Advantages: Looks good, Toasts 4 at a t'me
Disadvantages: Takes a long time
In a house full of my brother's friends, toast is constantly being made for the teenage boys who never seem to get filled up. As a result of this, we've gone through plenty of toasters and when we saw this one than could toast 4 pieces of bread in one go, it seems like the right choice.
How does it work?
The toaster is like two melded into one. You still have the decision of toasting 2 pieces without wasting electricity as there are two levers for two sections. In each sections you get a time to adjust how long you toast the bread for, three button which are reheat, eject and defrost and a lever to pull the bread into the toaster. To toast the bread all you have to do it use the lever and put the timer on. When needing to defrost of reheat you just press one of the buttons one the bread is inside.
Does it work well?
It's average. It toasts the bread but not very fast. In fact you will be waiting around for a while. The timer doesn't seem to be very reliable and have never really trusted leaving it down to this and just use the eject button instead. The defrost button works pretty well as well as the reheat button however.
What does it look like?
It has a metallic silver shell with the rest of the buttons levers being the same colour. It looks quite modern for my modern kitchen so although its not the fastest toasters it looks good. The toaster can also come in different colours. Most of these are pale pinks and blue for a Laura Ashley look.
Cost
We brought this for £60 from a local shop a while back but looking around now seems to be around £50 when brought online.
Overall
Its not eh best toaster out there but its suits me fine. The two sections come in very good handy and even though slow, looks good and reheats and defrosts very well.
