'Ooh shiny' - I believe, is what my Wife uttered when she saw this Toaster sitting proud on the shelf in the upmarket department store the other week. 'Can we have that one?' - she said, and indicated the Red version (Blue, Brushed Silver and Cream also available). I spluttered at the sight of the price tag, but then remembered that we were spending our wedding vouchers which we'd had stashed away since last year, not having had the time or the decisiveness to spend them earlier. I had to admit - it was a very shiny Toaster, and unlike most gadgets that promise the ultimate in connectivity, width of picture, depth of colour or flexible entertainment options, ... De'Longhi Icona CTO4003.R 4 Slice Toaster - Scarlet Red Bought for £56.45 (incl. VAT & postage & packing) from amazon.co.uk After our last smart-price toaster (which cost less than a large jar of Marmite) went on strike, we decided to treat ourselves to this glamorous model. Male viewpoint: The metal outer casing has a pleasing rigidity, so rarely found in plastic casings. The browning control dial enables you to select how your want your toast done, whilst making you feel like you are operating a slick, industrial 1950s coffee machine in some cool bar. Toasts the toast well and the lever emits a satisfying clunky click when ... Read the complete review

Why would a twenty two year old girl ask for her birthday? Shoes? Handbag? or a toaster? In my case definitely a toaster. Have you seen this toaster? It is a piece of beauty. I am the queen of decluttering, I have as little as possible on my kitchen side board, previous toasters have been hidden away in the cupboard. However this one has pride of place on the sideboard in plain view, and quite a few people have commented on how it looks. So why am I getting so excited about essentially a pretty appliance? Mine is in brushed chrome so it looks futuristic, but its styled in a retro way, meaning it won't look out of place in any ... Read the complete review

After a good few weeks browsing the web for toaster quotes i decided that the delonghi CTO4003 was the best toaster in its field. This toaster since i have purchased it, is fantastic. It not only does my toast to a crispy brown finish but it makes a fantastic spring when it pops up. Last week i woke up and thought hmm what should i have for breakfast?? should i have cereal? a poptart? or should i have a fantastic piece of toast from my DelonghiCTO4003 toaster?? After a brief discussion with my heart i decided to go for the poptart.........only joking people i chose the toast and my god it was worth it. Crispy, brown, ... Read the complete review

I had a Kenwood toaster that was just out of warranty and the filament appeared to have burned out. I wasn't happy but I liked that toaster as it had bun heater attachment and long slots for pitta bread etc. Anyway I wasn't happy that this had happened so soon so I purchased the Delonghi CTO 4003 in red, which is beautiful. What makes this better? It is solidly built, it looks good and it can do things like croissants and bagels. It has a setting that allows it to only toast one side of the bread or roll etc! It also toasts very evenly and you can very accurately set the colour of the toast. It has four slots and two work independently of the other two so saving power ... Read the complete review
