We bought our dualit toaster 4-5 years ago, and its been brilliant. Its reliable, couldn't be simpler to use and looks great. It cost more than I would usually consider spending, but since we had broken several cheaper toasters in the past, its turned out to be value for money too. My husband went to boarding school and the common room had 2 dualit toasters for use by about 600 teenage boys. Apparently they kept going for years despite the extremely rough usage. We did blow out an element las year- dualit sent a replacement within the week, and it was easy to fit. Top marks for customer service. My only criticism would be that the slots are ... Now we're talking! After years of putting up with replacing my toaster with yet another cheapo special offer one only to have it blow up on me in no time flat I decided that in the case of toasters cheap is a false economy. I really can't sing the praises of Dualit toasters enough. It's an iconic piece of kitchenware that looks great on any counter top. Chunky, toasts bread quickly, never, ever, breaks down - the thing's practically indestructible, I'm sure of it! A friend of mine raved on about Dualit toasters and I ignored him as I thought they were too pricey! I got this as a gift 2 years ago and I absolutely love it. It looks beautiful! The finish is gorgeous - it fits well amongst any chrome/stainless steel fittings you might have or stands out amongst the boring white appliances. It is expensive but most definitely worth it. The pop up handle means you'll never burn your fingers trying to grab hold of small pieces of toast and if you push it just right you can get the toast to pop right out onto your plate without touching it! You can time how long it toasts for, rather than like on the cheaper toaster options ... Read the complete review

I absolutely love toast, and this toaster for me represents a match made in heaven. My mum came home with it years ago, having spent what seemed an obscene amount of money on a toaster, considering you can pick one up for £10 pretty much anywhere. However, when you consider the flames and danger that those examples of bread grilling terror used to provide compared with the dualit, there is no question it was a sound investment. It is not an overstatement to say that it has never once caused any problems (except for optimistically large slices of bread). The entire appliance smacks of good design and good construction, with even the timer having a very solid feel and ... Read the complete review
