i,ve had this toaster for four years and can say one of the best products i have ever purchased, and ask my husband i,ve purchased a lot of toasters over vthe years. yes its expensive to purchase but the quality, style and ease of use of use make it worth it! you really do get what you pay for . A product that is built to last .The finnish is stylish and easy to care for and the design is a classic making it suitable for any kitchen interior, a real design statement.
This toaster is very reliable and has stood up to the demands of my large family. It is easy to use with two dials one too select one, two,or four slices and another dial too select how well done you want your toast
disadvantages; i can not think of one!
Ican definatly recommend this product with confidence fantastic toaster!
This is a fantastic toaster, expensive but worth every penny.
The toaster has four slots and are able to accomodate thick cut bread. It has a separate dial to allow you to cook 1,2,3 or 4 slices of bread at a time. It also has a bagel setting which allows you too cook one side of a bagel, very useful.
Additionally, as the toast doesn't pop up when it has finished cooking the toast remains warm within the unit itself.
Separate sandwich cages are available to buy separately so very flexible.
The all chrome toaster is lovely, it fits in with modern or period styles. It is easy to keep clean as it has a slightly different material at the ends where you are most likely to make smudge marks.
Many of my friends have Dualit toasters and have had them for years. You are able to buy replacements for all parts so you should never have to throw it away, hence my value for money comment.
As the toaster has several settings it is both more economical and environmentally friendly as it only heats the slots you are using.
Overall this is a great toaster, it toasts evenly if you cut the bread well and makes nice soft toast as it doesn't dry out.
I bought my Dualit toaster which is almost exactly the same as this, 10 years ago - that in itself is surely a great review for Dualit! It cost me around £170 then, which I work out has cost me around 4p a day and is still going strong. So I can't sing the praises of Dualit enough really.
This version has the addition of an extra dial with which you can control the 'browness' and has the Dualit manual lifting mechanism which allows you to lift the toast away from the heating element but still keep it warm - fabulous and just so handy when you are waiting for the kids to come down to breakfast - no cold toast traumas! The timing dial is mechanical so does make a noise as it 'ticks' around - but I do not find this upsetting at all.
The styling is retro (it has a 50's vibe) and looks equally good in a modern kitchen but also in a country or period home. I can also vouch for the fact that it will not date and will still look gorgeous in a decade to come.
The toaster slots are wider to allow the toaster racks to fit in and just make the best toasted sandwiches ever, ever. They are like a cage in design and can take the thickest of sandwiches. Thankfully the fully removable crumb tray can just be bunged in the dishwasher so when you've covered it in lovely goey cheese it is simple to keep clean. Extra cages can also be bought for around £12 from Dualit.
Another great thing about Dualit is that you can actually by spare parts so if anything did go wrong - which I'm guessing it won't, you can actully buy new elements and dials ect.
This is a classis, gorgeous, practical, reliable toaster - which by the way makes great toast too!
The Dualit Vario toaster combines simplicity and sophistication perfectly / With extra wide 28mm slots to accommodate a Sandwich Cage and the award winning ProHeat elements, a patented design which increases toasting efficiency & element longevity, every toaster has a removable crumb tray and an adjustable rear foot / Manually operated the Dualit toaster features switches to control the degree of browning and an ejector system which means that the toast does not pop up but stays warm until the ejector lever is pushed up / Short name: Dualit 42174
