Kenwood Toaster, model TT375.....
Member Name: MEL0611
Advantages: Efficient, stylish loooking, good price, good features
Disadvantages: None from me
There is nothing better than a cup of tea and a slice of toast of a morning. I think it is the smell that lures you in so even when you don't think you want toast, the smell takes over and before you know it, you are toasting some bread up! I struggle to eat breakfast first thing, I prefer more of a brunch so having a toaster at work makes me really lucky as I can make toast on my morning break. I am even luckier as I was put in charge of purchasing the toaster. There is only a few of us in the office and we don't all use the toaster so it didn't need to be anything to extravagant, I had a budget of £30.00 to get the toaster and after looking around I ended up purchasing the Kenwood TT375 toaster for the office and here are my thoughts on it! (Which happen to be the same as the rest of my colleagues!!)
The toaster as I mentioned above is by the Kenwood brand and it can be found in a number of places to purchase. I found that no matter where you get the toaster from, it tends to be around the same price bracket. The toaster, when I brought it for the office was £32.99, so only just over budget but it was exactly what we wanted and although there were cheaper models out there, I think it helps to pay a little more when the appliance will be getting frequent use as well as knowing it is a trusted brand. I got this from Argos but it can be found online at Amazon as well as other electrical retailers.
The toaster cam well packaged and once opened I saw that there was a one year manufacturer's guarantee as well as a good instruction booklet. The toaster, on appearance looks very sleek and elegantly designed. It is made from a stainless steel material and has a black base. There is a good amount of electrical cord so it was easily plugged in on the work top area in our kitchen. There is cord storage underneath the toaster if you need to hide some away. There are a number of buttons on the toaster, non difficult to use. The buttons are based on the top, at the side of the toaster and these are for cancelling the toasting process, a reheat button and a frozen bread button, great if you have left the bread in the freezer!
The toaster is a 2 slot toaster, this is all we needed for the office and it is a great compact design so good if you are lacking on space. I found that the toaster is really easy to use and although we all have individual preferences as to how we like our toast to be cooked, this one is quite accurate. There is a dial at the side of the toaster that allows you to set this preference. I like my toast not to brown and on a lower setting this is perfect.
The toaster is very safe to use, there is a automatic safety switch that if your bread becomes jams (I haven't had to use this feature though yet) it will switch off. For convenience there is also a slide out crumb tray, this allows you to take all the mess away and clean it without having to shake the toaster around.
It is not just toast making that I have used this appliance for, a couple of us in the office have had crumpets and a friend toasts her bagels and again, the toaster had done really well. It seems to cook at the right temperature and not one of us has had a problem with anything coming out of the toaster burnt. The slots on the toaster are not variable but they have managed to deal with quite thick bread so far.
I am sure you can tell by this review that I am very happy with the purchase. I speak for the other people in my office as well; it is efficient and quick at toasting the bread and because it is great at saving space, works really well with what we wanted.
5 out of 5 from me
