Advantages: Simple and efficient
Why is it that when one small electrical appliance decides to go west another always seems to follow. Only last month I sent hubby off with the wherewithal to purchase a new electric kettle. Before he set off he was well briefed, buy one white jug kettle made by a reputable electrical company with a reasonable price tag. He headed off in the direction of our local Curry's and came home with a Morphy Richards cordless jug kettle. It appeared that the ultra smart Morphy Richards jug kettle could have been purchased along with the Morphy Richards Essentials toaster and the two together would have cost just under £60. At that time my toaster was in rude health with no visible signs of fatigue.,or so I thought.
Then the day came that the toaster suddenly decided that it had toasted its last slice. The Internet is a great tool. The Internet allows you to access all of the local and not so local electrical appliance stores. The major stores such as Curry and Comet have vast websites that you can explore. Amazon and E bay are another good bet if you are looking for a bargain. Argos is only a stones throw away from us so that is another option. We may only be buying a toaster but however small the purchase we want to get the best value for money.
Having bought a white Morphy Richards jug kettle it was only natural that the toaster should match in some way or another. The sleek slimline Morphy Richards Essentials toaster is quite a looker. We all have different tastes when it comes to buying new kitchen appliances, my niece has a smart chunky looking four slice Dualit toaster. The Dualit toaster is smart and modern but it does take up a considerable amount of space. We decided that a slimline toaster that would accommodate four slices would be fine for us. Hence each toaster slot holds two slices of bread, side by side.
The Morphy Richards Essentials toaster comes in at just under £30. In the world of kitchen appliances this cannot be considered to be expensive. The toaster is not a Rolls Royce among toasters but it could be seen as a Rover. Morphy Richards have dressed the toaster in a good bright white plastic case which we really liked. The white plastic casing is easy to wipe clean and the top of the toaster is in a brushed stainless steel.
This toaster matches the Morphy Richards cordless jug kettle well. This is a coolwall toaster, which means that as the toaster heats and browns the bread the outside of the appliance remains cool and safe to touch. The toaster has a high lift function which saves you risking burnt fingers as you remove the slices of toast. For some unknown reason Morphy Richards have decided not to include a defrost function on this model. From our point of view this is not an issue but this is a family sized toaster and families often need to toast bread straight from the freezer. This Morphy Richards toaster has a variable slot width and a decent crumb tray that is easily accessed.
The toaster has ample cord storage and it also comes with a bun warming rack which I have yet to use. The dial for the toaster settings is easy to see and use and the bread toasts evenly. Above the settings dial is the normal `cancel` button should your toaster decide to have a sudden turn. The Morphy Richards toaster works well and we have no concerns when using it. It looks clean and it is efficient, what more could you ask for your money?
