This review is for the Morphy Richards 44324 model toaster. The toaster is in grey stainless steel and black plastic.
In terms of the care functions of the toaster, it toasts bread perfectly well, quickly and evenly. There are a number of features which are helpful, including the "stop and check" option, which lets you see how the toast is progressing.
In terms of cleaning the toaster, this is easy enough, there's a removable crumbs tray as you would expect, and I found this machine as easy to clean as any other toaster that I've had.
Again, as you would expect, there is a browning option so that you can choose how browned you want the toast, and there's a frozen bread option if you are toasting straight from the freezer.
Visually, I don't personally find this as attractive on the work top as some other toasters, but everyone's view is of course different. To me however, I found the toaster a little old-fashioned in its looks, although maybe it's just a retro design as the packaging describes it as "stylish"!
As a minor aside, the instructions for the machine are easy to understand, but the machine is so easy to operate that it's unlikely that you'd ever have to revert to them.
As mentioned, the toaster seems to toast quicker than previous machines I've owned, and another advantage that I've found in this model is that it takes up only a small amount of space on the worktop, which is very helpful in kitchens of a limited size.
The machine seems sturdy enough to me, and I've had no problems with mine, and it gives the impression of being robust enough to last. Sometimes on toasters the controls can be a little bit fiddly and easy to break, but that isn't the case with this product.
In terms of this review, it can be a little hard to review a toaster, as ultimately there are only the usual features that you'd expect on nearly all toasters. However, it performs all of the functions required efficiently, including burning my toast as I desire, given that I like blackened toast!
The toaster retails for 34.99, but is currently available from Amazon for 27.99 pounds. If you're happy with a second hand toaster, at the time of writing these are available for around 15 pounds including postage on sites such as eBay.
Overall, this toaster is perfectly sufficient at doing the job it is intended to do, it's easy to operate, although it's not as visually pleasing to my eye as some other toasters, it seems a bit clunky. However, as I was able to get the toaster cheaply, I have found it to be good value and therefore recommended.
