Advantages: Looks gorgeous, four slice, reheat function

Disadvantages: takes ages to toast

I have recently had my kitchen redecorated and in honour I decided to treat myself to a new kettle and toaster. I decided that I was going to go for red ones but once I saw the blue coloured kettle and toaster from Morphy Richards it was love at first sight and I had to have them.

The toaster is a four slice toaster which is a must in my house as I haven't got time in the morning to be making several trips to and from the toaster making toast for myself and the kids.
Both sides of the toaster have their own independent controls for toasting the bread so that you can decide on how brown you would like your bread to be.

As well as toasting there is a reheat function which will reheat toast that might have popped and been forgotten about. I really like this as it heats the toast without browning it anymore so you don't end up with rock solid toast. There is also a function for toasting bread from frozen.
It also comes with a removable crumb tray to pick up any mess.

The slots for fitting in the bread are a decent enough size and I've had no trouble with fitting in any bread bought from the supermarket but they aren't all that wide even though they are supposed to be able to accommodate crumpets etc.

There are no special features that make this toaster stand out and justify its £49.99 price tag other than the fact that it is a gorgeous looking machine. The blue is such a deep vibrant colour and really stands out and makes such a change from the usual coloured toasters and kettles that are all the rage at the moment.
The design is also beautiful and it has a 1950's retro look to it which although reminiscent of the past is also ultra-modern at the same time.

I do have a couple of minor problems with the toaster but nothing that would make me not recommend it. First of all toast takes absolutely ages to brown even when I crack the setting up to maximum. The second thing is that the left side of my particular toaster browns the toast quicker than the right side even when they are both on the same setting which is annoying.

Buying this toaster is all about the looks. It toasts bread just like any toaster but it is so much better looking than most other toasters that it really does help make my kitchen look nicer just being there. If you are looking for a toaster and want something a bit different then I can highly recommend this one.

Summary: A lovely looking toaster
