Great looking appliance, but cheaper models work much better.

I purchased this product ten months ago from Debenhams and it cost me £60.00. I liked the look of the toaster and being black it fitted in with the new colour scheme in my kitchen. At the time of purchase I thought this product was of a stylish and modern design and I was proud to have it sitting on my worktop. As a product it did exactly what it said on the tin, it was an excellent toaster. I have used it for waffles and bagels also (it will also toast very thick bread). You are able to control how toasted you want your bread/bagel by using the sliding scale at the bottom. You are also able to reheat your toast or cancel the process during anytime. The toaster is easy to clean (it has two crumb collecting trays). The black and silver surfaces were easily wiped clean to remove any crumbs and it never got fingerprint marks on it. Two weeks ago, unfortunately, the right side bread slots decided not to work - one of the two slots burnt the bread so it was black and the other one would not toast bread at all. I am fully aware that toasters (as well as all appliances) can break or become faulty, but for a price tag of £60 I expected this toaster to be fully functional for a lot longer than 10 months. To conclude, this toaster is a fabulous design but I think the price tag is too high when a much cheaper model works just as well, if not better. I would say that for £60 you are paying for the look and design of the toaster (as I probably did in the beginning) rather than the way in functions.

I have recently purchased this toaster. Looks wise i think it is pretty stylish, not a bit of plastic in sight! I have used it for bread, bagels and crumpets, all of which toast perfectly. there are the normal features that you would expect from a toaster plus there is also a bagel button, i hadn't realised this when i bought it and have been really impressed. The button allows you to only toast on only one side, which is brilliant provided you remember which way to put it in. All in all its a great little toaster!
