      Not just for bread!

I recently invested in a new kettle and also a toaster from the same range. This toaster cost me £24 from Tesco Direct. The colour I chose was red but there was also a white, silver and black toaster available with a matching kettle. The toaster came in a nice black box which was a nightmare to get into. Once I did get inside I was suprised at how light the toaster actually was. The outer part of toaster is mainly metal which is cool touch. The toaster has a unique design it appears to slope on the right hand side. The design is also very compact making it ideal for those with smaller kitchens. The main body of my toaster is a lovely bright red colour, the base is black plastic as is the area where the buttons are situated. The top of the toaster where the bread slots in is metallic this part does get hot. The toaster has several heat settings controlled by a dial to suit individual taste. There are also 3 transparent buttons to the front, one is to cancel the toaster so the toast pops back up, one is to toast defrosted bread and the final button is a warming button designed to warm cold toast without burning it. The toaster holds 2 sliced of bread at a time. The slots in this toaster are a decent size meaning I can fit bagels and muffins in something my Tesco Value toaster didn't allow me to do. The toaster much to my delight also has an extra lift facility by pushing the button up a little further, this allows me to get crumpets out easily without the need for burning my fingers of worse still using a knife (we've all done it!) The toaster is easy to use I like my toast a golden brown and I find that level four delivers this. It takes a couple of minutes to toast and the slices are evenly toasted. The toaster also has a crumb tray which easily slides out to allow you to dispose of crumbs easily. Overall this is a really good toaster it looks nice in my kitchen takes up little space and is a vast improvement on my last model. I haven't tried the defrost setting as I don't freeze breads but the reheat function is useful particularly when you are making toast for a few people. 5 out of 5 from me a great toaster.
