Advantages: Nice, evenly toasted bread. Modern and stylish looking appliance

Disadvantages: None

In a morning, no matter how early I get up, I always seem to be rushing so when it comes to breakfast, I like to eat it on the go, this is why I love toast. I am able to just pop some bread in, carry on getting ready and then when its done, I don't have to sit down like I would with cereal, I can eat while walking around.

Last year, our toaster that we had had for nearly 10 years finally decided to give up so I had the task of purchasing another, I had a gift voucher for Argos so I decided to by one from there. I wanted a brand that I could trust as I knew it would get a great deal of use and I wanted it to last a long time to I choose the Russell Hobbs 13766.

The slots are quite wide, meaning that at the weekends when we have fresh un-cut bread, I can have really thick doorstop slices and have no problems putting the bread in or getting it out.

I purchased from Argos for around £30, it was available for home delivery as well as in store. What I like about Argos is the check and reserve system, you can check stock from the comfort of my own home and if it is available, reserve it for collection until close of business the following working day, this means no waster journey and I also find it quicker when paying in store as I can just enter my reservation number into one of the self serve machines. It is also available for a similar price from places such as Amazon, Currys, Comet and Homebase.

To the side of the toaster, there are two buttons, a dial and a LED light. The LED light comes on when the toaster is in use, the dial turns so you can adjust how 'well done' you would like you toast (I personally prefer it very lightly done so I use the second setting, there are six settings in total). One of the buttons is for the defrost function meaning you can toast the bread from frozen (although I have never used this function) and the final one is to cancel the toasting (press this and it will automatically make the bread 'pop up'). The base also contains a crumb tray, just pull this out and hopefully it should have caught all the crumbs so you can easily dispose of them (rather than leaving a trail all over the worktop like my other half seems to do when using!).

The toaster comes in a nice polished stainless steel finish with a back base, the base itself has 4 rubber feet (meaning it is anti-slip), underneath the toaster on the base there is a insert where you can place the cord so when not in use, you can wrap the cord away nicely so it does not look messy. The toaster looks really nice, stylish and compliments my kitchen nicely meaning I do not have to put it away when I have used.

The one in the picture is actually the 13767 version which is the 4 slice toaster, the 13766 is the 2 slice toaster.

Using is simple, just place your bread in the slots, turn the dial so you can decide how toasted you would like you bread and push the lever down at the side. When the toast is ready, it will automatically pop up and the toaster elements turn off.

What I love about this toaster is its performance, it toasts really nicely, and the slots are quite wide and also quite deep meaning that when I have larger bread (such as Warburtons), all the bread gets toasted really nicely. I also find that the bread toasts quite evenly too (I have had toasters in the past were you end up with burnt bits).

Overall, I would recommend and give 5 out of 5 stars.

Thanks for reading.
