... is it? As a basic budget toaster it does a good job. The stainless steel look is attractive and there's a crumb tray to make cleaning easier. It's big enough to fit most bread without having to squish in the ends, though once or twice I've ended up with pale tops of a slice. It toasts fairly evenly, with the whole slice popping up the same colour. The top setting is high enough that you can get really well done toast without putting it on again, and the lower one gives you barely-done toast. If you make a mistake...more

- Why I Bought - I bought the Sainsbury's 2 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster a year ago as I needed a new toaster but was on a bit of a budget. All the appliances in my kitchen are stainless steel so it was important that my new toaster would look the part. This particular model seemed to tick the boxes when it came to price and appearance. - The Look - The toaster is quite simple in design. The main body is made from stainless steel while the base and control panel are black plastic. It looks simple and functional but also rather sleek and modern. It looks quite solid but is actually very light. It is a fairly standard size for a two slice toaster, ...  Read the complete review

I purchased this toaster from Sainsbury's at the same time I got the kettle which is also stainless steel like this 2 slice toaster. Back in 2009 I think it was priced round about the £10 mark. Having looked on line now they don't have this identical one but a similar one is priced at £14.97. When I got this I felt a 2 slice toaster was fine with just one child in the house but now there are two of them sometimes wanting toast in the morning I wish I had a 4 slice toaster. I always feed the kids and partner before myself and often I end up with no time left to do mine or eating on the run. This is a basic toaster and easy to use. Pop the bread into ...  Read the complete review

Perhaps this reflects more about me than this Toaster, but I was genuinely a little excited to see that it was on Dooyoo. It has quietly served me well for over five years now, and deserves this public commendation. When I moved into my current flat, my father came over to have a scout around. We prodded at some boxes, and then sensing his reticence to work, I took us to the pub. My previous flat-mate had taken the base appliances as part of his rightful plunder when we'd divvied up our shared possessions, and so when my hung-over father woke up 8:00 the next morning - many hours before I would be able to face the daylight - and found he was unable to have ...  Read the complete review

I got this as a present when I moved house in January and use it most mornings to make my breakfast - toast, bagels or crumpets. * Features You can twist the dial from 1-7 to increase the time of toasting. There's also a handy 'reheat' setting in case you forget your toast or spend too long getting coffee (nice to know I'm not the only dozy one in the morning). The bagel setting is also useful because it toasts on only one side - just make sure you have them in the right way round. * How good is it? As a basic budget toaster it does a good job.
