Advantages: Easy to use, safe to use, well designed, produces great toast!

Disadvantages: None that I have found

When it comes to gadgets I and my lovely other half often disagree. I am not a technophobe but I am not one for all these fancy gadgets either. My other half likes to have the most up to date and fancy objects where I am happy to sit back and have the mote simple things. This goes as far as our Toaster. We have brought these fancy toasters before but that does not always mean they work the best so when his beloved toaster gave up the ghost a while ago (it was refusing to actually toast the bread at the end!) I set about getting something a lot simpler. We were lucky enough to have some Argos vouchers, Stuart, my other half had got them via his workplace so that was the obvious place to start looking and there I spotted the Tefal Delfini toaster. Having had other electrical items from the Tefal range before I was happy to with this model, that and the fact it is a simple to use toaster and a relatively cheap one as well!

As I mentioned, I got this toaster from Argos and it cost us £9.99. Some may consider this to cheap but after paying what I consider a silly amount before I was more than happy to give a cheaper item a go! I believe you can buy the toaster online for the same price at Amazon or even EBay as well as electrical retailers like Curry or Comet.

The toaster is available in either black, chrome or white, we chose the white, (it matches the kitchen better!) the toaster came in a well packaged box as well as coming with a small instruction leaflet and warranty for a year. The toaster has the Tefal logo on the bottom right hand side and the name of the product, 'The Delfini'. The toaster is quite a compact one compared to many and is a 2 slice toaster as opposed to the larger 4 slice ones. The toaster is about 35cm in length so it does not take up to much room on your work top. There is a good amount of flexible cord on the toaster; I would say at least 75cm so you can position it well and quite safely on your work top.

The toaster has a couple of chrome attachments that are situated on the right hand side of the toaster. These controls are for the adjusting of how brown you like your toast and this button is a range of numbers and then the control just above this is the eject button, it is really easy to push down and just clicks into place once done. The toaster also comes with a defrost setting but I have to admit that we have never used this so I cannot really comment (we tend to just defrost the bread overnight!)

The other thing to mention with a toaster like this is that there is an easy to pull out crumb catcher. I find these really handy and stop's my work top getting covered in crumbs, it slides out with ease and then you can just tip all the excess into the bin.

I think this has been a great purchase, we have been using the toaster for about 3 months now and have so far had no problems with it, it has been a really good investment and goes to show sometimes the cheaper items are just as good as those expensive ones. My other half has even said we have done well with it! It has never cooked the bread for too long and we have not had an issue with having burnt toast! The toaster, even though it is white does not really get that dirty, I just make sure that I give it a regular wipe down when I am cleaning the rest of my kitchen.

In conclusion, I am more than happy with this product, it is an excellent buy and fingers crossed there's a lot more life left in it yet!

5 out of 5 from me on this one
