Is this the answer to problem we have never had in the first place? A toaster than poaches or boils an egg while it toasts the bread. Could it be a gadget that our grand children will look back on & laugh about in 50 years time or something that we can really use? As our old toaster expired just before Christmas & we needed a replacement, we found this rather smart looking toaster with an egg facility. For me breakfast is my most important meal of the day & I eat like a king in the mornings but time is always against me. I eat the simple foods during the working week & leave the cooked meals for the weekend when time is on my ... Read the complete review

What is it and does the World really need one? The Tefal toast n egg machine is a funky new gadget, which does exactly what it says it does. The appliance itself is black and silver in colour, with two wide slots which take bread, muffins, bagels and croissants, according to the manufacturer. However I would take note of the potential safety aspect of putting any product into the toaster which contains any free oil although the Tefal website claims it is designed to toast croissants - thanks to Nar2 for raising this issue in his comment on the review. The toaster in itself is quite basic with only a simple slide lever to control the browning - ... Read the complete review

This was a MUST for my kitchen when I first came across it, but, I have to admit, I havent used it for some weeks now. It does great poached eggs although I had to experiment with the timing of it for some while, and the same went for boiled. Its good though, in that I dont have to bother with saucepans in the mornings now. On a downside. I noticed that it just doesnt totally toast my preferred slice of bread. I have to toast it, then turn the bread upside down to get the top bit done. Obviously, depends on the size of the loaf you're using, its wide enough for extra thick crumpets, barmcakes etc, etc which many of my other toasters have let me down on in the past. ... I received this toaster as a wedding present in August 2008 and absolutely love it. It does exactly as it says on the tin. I mainly use it for poaching eggs, but it is also adept at boiling eggs perfectly. THe egg section basically consists of a fixed dish, which heats the water and a removable pan (to add the raw egg for poaching) and a removable plastic tray with four holes for boiling eggs. Add the water to the dish, add your egg to the pan (with a bit of oil so it doesn't stick) place on the cover, put in your bread and select the toast and egg icon. 2 minutes later, perfect poached egg on toast. The item come with a plastic measuring jug with indications for the ... Read the complete review

the first one i purchased of this machine was faulty, would not stay down when bread was placed inside, returned to the shop were i bought from and received a replacment, i must admit at this point i thought i hope this is not going to be a fault with this model, but no the replacement worked, fine it does the poached egg perfectly, and will do 4 soft or hard boiled eggs with brilliant results, the only problen which irritate's me with this machine is the bread slots are to small to take the brand of bread i use, the top of the bread when placed in the machine stick's out of the top a good inch and half, and i find i am having to stand over the toaster so i am able ...
