It cooks eggs by steaming them from water placed into the element. To cook eggs you place the rack on top of the element. There is room for up to four eggs here. The toaster comes complete with a measuring pot for water. On the base of this is a small sharp needle which must be used to piece the bottom of the egg before placing in the rack. Just over a year ago my faithful old toaster decided to cremate itself and I had to rather quickly launch it out of the back door, now this left me with a huge problem, as my children are addicted to toast (and im a bit partial too) so I decided to have a shop round to see what was available as I didn't really like the sound of a 'cheap' toaster as im fussy about my kitchen and everything has to match. I eventually came across this one on a home shopping catalogue website (possibly from the Littlewoods group) and immediately purchased one! Even since this toaster has become a god send in my house. I paid around £45 for mine and it seems this is the average price of ...  Read the complete review

I had a perfectly good working toaster but as I browsed through the Argos catalogue I saw what I first thought was a bit of a gimmick - Tefal toast and egg. Saying "Ha look at this" to my partner that was it he had to have it and so I was sent out to buy it the next day. The product retails for £39.99 if you purchase the black one and a shocking £64.99 if you dare to want a red one - how they can justify this ridiculous increase? The red on has a warming function and a bagel/croissant rack. I am glad I wanted black and I had the two extra functions on my other toaster and never used them anyway! I bought mine in Argos but they are also in the ...  Read the complete review

Tefal TT550015 Toast n Egg: Toast & eggs all in one go (1133 words)

Is this the answer to problem we have never had in the first place? A toaster than poaches or boils an egg while it toasts the bread. Could it be a gadget that our grand children will look back on & laugh about in 50 years time or something that we can really use? As our old toaster expired just before Christmas & we needed a replacement, we found this rather smart looking toaster with an egg facility. For me breakfast is my most important meal of the day & I eat like a king in the mornings but time is always against me. I eat the simple foods during the working week & leave the cooked meals for the weekend when time is on my ...  Read the complete review

Tefal Toast N' Egg TT550015 Features: - 1200w - 2 slice toaster - Boils and Poaches eggs - Re-Heat tray RRP around £34.99 The Tefal Toast N' Egg is no ordinary toaster! I bought this three years ago when I moved house. I am a big believer in "you get what you pay for". Having said that I was, and still am, on an extremely tight budget. So spending this much money on a toaster was a fairly big decision. It turned out to be a fantastic decision and changed the way I cooked breakfast from there on in! The toaster takes two slices of bread. It has variable heat settings from 1 to 5 depending ...  Read the complete review

Tefal TT550015 Toast n Egg: Cracking gadget - but not entirely flawless. (566 words)

What is it and does the World really need one? The Tefal toast n egg machine is a funky new gadget, which does exactly what it says it does. The appliance itself is black and silver in colour, with two wide slots which take bread, muffins, bagels and croissants, according to the manufacturer. However I would take note of the potential safety aspect of putting any product into the toaster which contains any free oil although the Tefal website claims it is designed to toast croissants - thanks to Nar2 for raising this issue in his comment on the review. The toaster in itself is quite basic with only a simple slide lever to control the browning - ...  Read the complete review
