Decent toaster at a decent price

Advantages: Cheap, fairly easy to use
Disadvantages: Can be temperamental
I bought this when my partner and I moved from a fully finished into an unfurnished flat, so the aim was to keep costs down as much as possible as we had very little in the way of furniture and appliances.
The toaster was a reasonable price and looks nice too being a sleek silver design, which happily enough matches the few appliances already in the kitchen.
It cooks two pieces at a time, it has frozen, reheat and cancel buttons, the former two of which I seldom use as if you put frozen bread in and adjust the settings to around 3 it defrosts then toasts quite nicely. The only time I would defrost first is where the bread is fairly chunky as on a normal setting it will toast the outside and the inside will remain frozen!
There are three problems I have had with the toaster - although none of them are particular show-stoppers.
Firstly, the lever to push the toast down and turn the toaster on is very temperamental, and often you think you have managed it only to find it has just caught and is not on at all. I have many times come back wondering why my toast hasn't popped to find two frozen slices still sat in the toaster.
Secondly, the heat setting is not an exact science, sometimes it undercooks and others it cremates your toast - I would recommend cooking on a very low setting and just cooking twice if it is not enough the first time around.
Thirdly, the crumb tray is quite flimsy and tends to catch, causing the crumbs to catapault over your worktop! It is actually easier just to turn the toaster off and shake it over the bin!
All in all - I'm not a frequent toaster eater, so this is fine for me, I can put up with the minor inconveniences considering the price I paid. However, if you are toast mad I would recommend going for a different model.
Summary: Alright for infrequent use, but if you're mad about toast go for something else!
