Intro

Just before heading to uni for the first time 3 years ago I was bought a number of random and wonderful accessories by my parents to increase my enjoyment of my time there, items such as cups, plates, kettle and a toaster. This Tesco effort was the toaster in question, i think they took the opinion that there was no point in spending money on something which is going to be absolutely ruined in a student house for 3 years. I have now finished my course, used it for all 3 years, and finally retired it into silicon heaven, but it has served me well in that time.


The product

As you can see, it is made from a flimsy and pretty inadequate, cheap and nasty, white plastic that does not feel secure at all when moving the toaster around. It then has grey dials on, one to cancel the toasting, and another to set the auto pop function. It is not a great looker really is it? Anyway, the dials can be set in a number of positions depending on how you like your toast, however i find that continuously popping and checking is probably a better approach, as there is a good amount of time between each pop which can mean the difference between your bread being bread or being burned!

I believe we picked up the toaster for about £4 which is a bargain of epic proportions really. In an age where you can probably buy toasters to sing happy birthday to you, an effort which justs toasts your bread is something which is actually quite welcomed, and it did this job well for that price.

In terms of durability, i really cannot complain. As i said, i have used this for about 3 years now and it is still going strong, albeit now retired. It has been used regularly and had alcohol and god knows what spilled on it, so it is a real good effort for it to be continuing to work even now.

Very basic product but if you literally want to just toast bread then you cannot really go wrong to be honest! Bargain basement stuff.
