Citrus fruits don't belong in shisha tobacco

As some of you may know if you read my recent review of Strawberry flavoured Shisha tobacco, I recently received a Shisha (waterpipe) as a Christmas present and have decided to review my way through the various flavours. One of the flavours supplied with the shisha was a box of Orange flavoured Molasses tobacco by the manufacturer Al Waha - a Syrian company. Shisha tobacco strengths and quality of flavours vary between brand but I haven't tried enough of Al-Waha to really judge them, if I was judging them on this particular flavour then I wouldn't rate them very highly but they have a great reputation and I think that would be a bit harsh. The box cost around 20zl in Poland - which means slightly below 4 quid, if you are using generous portions of the molasses tobacco, I imagine that would be enough for about 6-7 "goes", which makes it fairly well priced. I'm a bit of a traditionalist and struggle to believe that other flavours master the might of apple - my favourite. Apple is a little old hat though these days and the citrus fruits are in favour, I never really liked the idea of smoking orange flavoured molasses though and had a feeling it wouldn't be up my street, indeed my fears were proved to be correct, it had a rather astringent flavour to it and left you wondering whether it was more of an orange skin flavour than the fruit itself. Either way, it seemed harsh on the lungs and left the mouth with a cacky taste. My advice - steer clear of the orange flavour unless you just want something strong with a horrible taste.
