Advantages: Free papers, enjoyable smoke

Disadvantages: Well, it kills you. Does that count?

DISCLAIMER:I feel terrible reviewing tobacco. I few ground rules I suppose. Look kids - it ain't big and it ain't clever. I am not endorsing this stuff, even though I'm about to say nice things about it. well actually I am I suppose, but that's not the point. As a concession to a greater morality, this will be a short and to the point review of a very good product.

Everyone has a favourite brand of tobacco and this is mine. I suppose rolling tobacco is divided into light and dark types and this is of the light variety. It's a golden-coloured medium-shredded affair with a good level of moisture. It's not at all tarry feeling like some of the darker brands (Yes Old Holbourne - I mean you!). If you smoke Golden Virginia then the flavour ad taste is almost identical, the only difference is that it is slightly dryer. Just.

The tobacco rolls easier than any other brand I have ever rolled. I think the consistency is just right. It holds together really well as you pop it on the paper and the length of the strands seem to be spot on for extruding them along the length of the paper. There are never any 'lumps' as I tend to find with Golden Virginia. Perfect rolly every time.

Lighting up is a snip. Again, the moisture levels are low enough to catch fire easily but not so low as to result in a towering inferno. The smoke draws through the tobacco easily. Sorry to harp on about Old Holbourne but my cheeks hurt sometimes after smoking one of them.

Amber leaf is available in 12.5, 25g and 50g pouches. A 12.5g packet (which comes in a box) costs about £2.60 and is good for 25-30 cigarettes depending on how cigar-like you have them. This in itself is good in comparison to other popular brands BUT with Amber Leaf, you also get 50 cigarette papers - something the other brands don't do.

Overall - good value for money and the best flavour and 'smokability' out there.

A short review I know but I just can't quite bring myself to wax lyrical about something that kills you. Sure you understand.

Thanks for reading.
May also be on Ciao.
Cheers.
