Disadvantages: it keeps me smoking
From time to time I try to cut down my tobacco habit, and in doing so most times I return to the good old roll up. I much prefer tailor made cigarettes, but with the ever-rising prices it definitely makes sense to switch every so often to save a wad of cash. I've tried so many times to stop with no real success, so I guess I've pretty much resigned myself to failing so now I don't try any more.
Amber Leaf is a Virginia tobacco blended by Richard Lloyd and sons, and it retails at around £3.12 per 12.5g packet. The packet of tobacco comes in a yellow box which is the exact same as a packet used for twenty tailor made cigarettes, so you have somewhere to store the roll ups you make from the contents. In the yellow box there is also and added bonus of a packet of cigarette papers of the Scruples brand, which consists of 50 papers, easily enough for the 12.5g packet of tobacco.
As tobaccos' go Amber Leaf is quite mild, and in comes in a small highly compressed sachet type pouch, meaning that there is a fair bit of tweezing required before you start rolling your cigarettes. The standard 12.5 block of old still crops up now and then which is easier, but generally it is the new compressed packaging which contains the tobacco.
Rolling cigarettes is a bit of an art form of which I am certainly no member, I have to use a rolling machine to get a decent cigarette, I also use tips to kind of replicate a tailor made. Like most rolling tobaccos if you do not take a drag for some time the Amber Leaf will go out and you will have to light your fag again. I like the smell of this tobacco before I start rolling I have a good old whiff of the leafy moist mix. I know that I should probably make further efforts to stop, but this is a pleasant baccie which I do enjoy smoking for it's flavoursome rich smell and taste, which is probably more than I can honestly say for tailor mades.
== Summary ==
At almost half the price of a packet of twenty cigarettes it is looking increasingly likely that should I intend to keep smoking this is going to be what I smoke from now on. There will be no complaints from me though I like this tobacco better than Golden Virginia which was always the one I chose before. It tastes smooth and flavoursome and gives me a good smoke so its a winner in my book.
Summary: A nice tasting smooth tobacoo
