Advantages: No Crap
Disadvantages: none
I've smoked now for almost 40years, and in that time I can honestly say that I have tried to stop twice, with regrettable failure. It doesn't take Einstein to figure out that inhaling smoke into your body is not what it was designed to do, therefore there is a significant chance that it is most certainly doing you harm. Without the help of expert medical advice you could say the same for a great deal of items we consume on a regular basis especially medicine sold over the counter since there is no control over the quantity you take. I have often taken more the recommended dosage of a medicine when the initial dosage hasn't done the trick, I know it's wrong but all I want is the headache or whatever to go away. I'm not defending smoking in any way if I can do anything to stop someone starting what is a dirty and filthy habit then I will, but unfortunately with this product causing such a serious addiction me stopping will probably not be part of his or her solution.
I do feel however that over the years there has been a campaign to blame cigarettes for a lot of medical problems that they really have nothing to do with. Can't prove it was caused by anything in particular then blame the good old scapegoat, the cigarette. I read an article years ago, which stated briefly that everyone is born with the possibility of getting cancer and that everyone has a different trigger, which may start of the cancerous process. In some it is obviously cigarettes, but being a smoker doesn't mean that it was the smoking that caused the cancer although in all probability it will get the blame. If the article does in fact have some basis of truth then the main problem is that when we are born we are unaware of what it is that triggers the cancer therefore we can do very little to stop it. We could obviously not start smoking since this is a major factor, and probably a major cause. Addictions are easy things to discuss but a bit more complicated to actually defeat. Having as I said smoked for 40 years it is almost part of me now, I do wish I had never started and hope that one day I will stop before it perhaps stops me. It is all the crap that comes with the nicotine through the cigarette that causes most of the damage especially the tar on the lungs. I recently, whilst searching Amazon to spend my wonderful wad of dooyoo vouchers, discovered a product, which eliminates all this crap. So why am I reviewing this under this category...................... Well quite simply because the product is called an E Cigarette and the category is cigarette products in general, but some may still deem this off topic.
£16.99 worth of vouchers purchased me an E Cigarette, which consists of three major parts excluding the charger.............YES charger. The first part is similar to the normal white part of a cigarette, but is in fact a battery. It takes up perhaps 90% of the white area. The second part is the atomiser, which takes up the remaining 10%. The battery and atomiser simply screw together once the battery has been charged on the provided charger. The remaining portion of the E Cigarette is the tip part of a normal cigarette and is very similar in shape size and look. This tube is filled with a pure nicotine solution packed in a small cartridge. This part of the product simply pushes onto the atomiser end of the E Cigarette. This means that the moist nicotine cartridge is now in contact with the atomiser. A small hole I the end of the tip portion allows the user to suck and inhale. In doing so the atomiser is activated through a sensitive switch causing the moist nicotine substance to form a vapour, which can be safely inhaled as normal. This vapour contains the nicotine, which in passed into the body, as is the nicotine in a normal cigarette. No crap just the nicotine.
The battery portion has an added benefit it has a small light on the end, which glows red upon sucking. So simply smoke as normal get the pretend smoke, the glow at the end, and the nicotine you crave. The product has no side effects and works brilliantly. There is no risk to others of passive smoking since the exhaled vapour is just water vapour. NO REAL SMOKE. Having used this for about 2 weeks now I have dramatically reduced my intake of the normal foreign substances in a cigarette of which there are apparently 4000. The product has a flavouring, which imitates that of tobacco, and I have found that it does feel and taste very similar to a cigarette. I have NOT as yet stopped smoking but am now smoking about 60 - 70 less cigarettes a week which although isn't ideal is still of great benefit. Perseverance in the new product, which can incidentally be smoked legally in PUBS, may win in the end, we shall see.
The E Cigarette as I said can be purchased on Amazon.co.uk there are other versions but this one is the one advertised as a starter kit. This means your get the cigarette, the charger and 10 cartridges, 3 high strength, 4 medium strength, and 3 low strength. The basic idea is to start with the high and work down to the low; each cartridge is equivalent to 15 normal cigarettes, that's 150 in old money. I'm winning the battle, but it is a long war.
Summary: Try something different

- 15/11/08 Wow! A virtual cigarette. That sounds crazy, but if it's cutting down your real amount of ciggie consumption then it's gotta be good! |
