I love Gauloises! I would heartily recommend them to anyone who hasn't tried them before. The smoke goes down really easily and provides a strong, spot-on nicotine hit every time. They also have a much more pleasant after-taste than many other cigarettes. Don't believe the image of stinky French cigarettes - I have never found that Gauloises produce more lingering or bad-smelling smoke than other brands. They also come in a cool packet, and if you smoke them you will look like a bit more of an individual than everyone else with their foul-tasting Marlboro Lights. In fact I love these cigarettes so much I had to stop smoking them regularly a few years ago because I was smoking too many of them and I couldn't afford it (so be warned - they are probably more addictive than other brands so may not be a good idea if you're trying to cut down or give up!). This is no longer an issue for me as I now have a bit more cash and have gone back to chain-smoking (yes, I know I'm heading for an early grave and all that, but its worth it for that delicious feeling that comes from having your lungs full of smoke all the time), however there is still a problem for me with Gauloises which is that they are not available in many shops in the UK, and also being a Brit my French accent is rubbish so asking for them can provoke odd looks...Still, if you have a local shop which stocks them, give them a go. I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised!
Quality is comparable with Marlboro Red; buy them now before the Brits catch on. - Advantages: Cheaper than other big brands due to lack of popularity in the UK, Very smooth, A pleasure to smoke - Disadvantages: Smoking Gauloises (or any cigs) may damage your health
