I'm in the U.S. No Gauloises here for years, but I found some elsewhere online. They are not the same wonderful tobacco as I bought some years ago--same package, but poor quality tobacco in skinny cigarettes, not like before. I heard that they are no longer made by the original French company. Did the new manufacturer mess up the cigarettes, or did I receive a knockoff, or non-authentic Gaulloises? Any ideas or similar findings?

Once you try them, and smoke for month or two, there is no going back. Nothing else is even close. Dark Algerian tobacco is strong but it also has specific flavor that you will not find in any other brand. Gitanes are similar but less so to say sophisticated. Be aware they are not easy to find, and that is a problem for anyone who start to like them. Like I already said, once you start to like them there is no coming back

The tobacco (european dark tobacco) is completely different from the american blend contained in the blonde brand, and it has a sweet and rich flavour. Disvantages of these cigarettes may come from the absence of filter (in Italy we don't have Caporals Filter, se I can't say nothing about this latter brand) that makes them very strong for your lungs, despite of their contentents of condensed (12mg) and nicotine (0.7mg). What's more, when you have alredy smoked .. Read the complete review
