Advantages: Cheaper than tailor mades, smooth smoke
Disadvantages: Extremely bad for your health!
Golden Virginia is produced by Imperial Tobacco in the UK. It is sold in this country in pouch sizes of 12.5g, 25g and 50g. I tend to buy the 50g pouches.
It is quite a mild smoke. I have tried many different tobacco brands and have found Golden Virgina much smoother than the likes of Drum.
I used to smoke 'tailor made' Royal cigarettes but switched to roll ups a couple of years ago for cost purposes mainly. Back then Royals were costing me about £4.50 a packet which would last me about one day. I now pay around the £11.50 mark for a 50g pouch of Golden Virginia and this lasts around a week.
I always roll my cigarettes with filters though to get a better quality smoke. There is nothing worse than smoking a roll up and having bits of tobacco in your mouth!
Smoking roll ups has also helped me to cut down on my smoking as you don't have the convenience of having a packet of ready mades to reach to every time you fancy one. You have to make the effort to roll one! My worst time was whilst driving, I used to chain smoke! Smoking roll ups helped me cut down greatly in this respect as you cannot roll up whilst driving! I say that, I am sure some people do but I am not daft enough to try!
I would recommend this tobacco though to anyone who wants to save a lot of money by switching from tailor mades or someone who smokes a different brand to try something new.
I definately do not recommend anyone to try this for the sake of trying smoking! I wish I had never started as it is very addictive. I am not proud of the fact that I smoke and am hoping to give up soon before I do any serious damage to my body!
Summary: Cheaper way to continue a filthy habit!

- 04/10/08 You could try what I sometimes do and try and quickly roll one at a red traffic light! Actually, I shouldn't be giving advice like that, so roll however many you need before you set off. I normally allow myself one per journey! (But sometimes the red traffic light idea is too tempting)! x |
