Ex-Amber Leaf smoker recommends Golden Virginia (Golden Virginia Tobacco)

Disadvantages: Learning to roll is a bit of a chore at first

I've tried most different brands of hand rolling tobacco as well as most brands of factory cigarettes and Golden Virginia is by far my favourite.

If you're looking to switch from factory fags to rollies due to cost/taste/whatever then i highly recommend 25g of Golden Virginia and a couple of packets of Green/Blue Rizlas. It's about 30p more expensive than say Amber Leaf (Which i used to smoke) or Drum, and you need to factor in the cost of the papers which is about 46p for 2 packets (which isn't a lot) but it's so satisfying.

I used to smoke Amber Leaf when i first started when i quit school and i loved it, free papers in every packet and a box of filters would bring me up to about £6 for a 25g packet of A.Leaf and it would be good for about 120 cigarettes, very cost effective and very satisfying.

However i quickly found that A.Leaf has a terrible habit of going absolutely bone dry if you don't keep it somewhere cool and moist and then it turns horribly harsh.
The 25g Packs of A.Leaf can get around this if you put a fresh cut peice of Potato or apple in every day (make sure you peel the baccy off the potato or apple first, there's about a rollie's worth there, hah!) but it's a real hassle if you have to get off in the morning (like i do for college).

Somebody at college gave me a GV Rollie when i was fresh out of A.Leaf and i was stunned by just how nice it tasted, And the fact all packs of Golden Virginia are not only in pouches, but they have a seal on to keep it fresh is the main reason i switched.

If you've switch to rollies due to cost, but haven't got the nack for it yet. I URGE you to keep at it, there's nothing quite as satisfying as a nicely rolled cigarette so just keep going and it'll all click into place eventually.
Just remember to spread the baccy evenly and try not to leave any gaps round the filter (if you use one) and you'll be alright :]
