Advantages: Cheaper than ready made cigarettes
Disadvantages: Can harm you and those around you
Golden Virginia is a hand rolling tobacco which means that you have to make the cigarette yourself by rolling the the tobacco inside a very thin paper skin known as cigarette papers, of which the most popular brand are the "Rizla" variety.
Now rolling a "hand- made" cigarette is quite an art in itself. The quality of the cigarette paper makes a lot of difference. The thickness of the cigarette paper is of paramount importance. The cheaper, thicker papers make the cigarette you have rolled, taste 'smoky' because as you draw in the lit cigarette the paper also burns and gives off more taste of a burning piece of paper.
The Golden Virginia tobacco itself gives you a smooth mellow relaxing smoke. The tobacco is moist, which will not dry out as quickly as the lesser, cheaper brands and is extremely well packaged in a plastic type pouch with a zip lock seal and a sticky tab which is perfect for resealing the tobacco pouch, keeping the contents fresh.
Tip: To keep the tobacco fresher even longer I always used to place a "Dock Leaf" inside the pouch along with the tobacco.
Golden Virginia tobacco is cut to a consistent and fine texture, the tobacco itself is sweet-smelling and has a vague aroma of chocolate about it (It does to me, anyway).
Giving you a rich, smooth and satisfying taste, Golden Virginia tobacco, when combined with decent quality cigarette papers, and rolled properly (rolling the tobacco too tightly prevents you from inhaling a full draw on the cigarette) leads to a perfect and satisfying smoke.
I am not advocating that smoking is good for you. Research says that it can cause lung cancer and other diseases. At the end of the day it is your choice, and yours alone. But if you are a smoker, or are deciding to start hand rolling your own cigarettes to save money on the more conventional, ready made cigarettes, then I suggest this Golden Virginia Tobacco as the perfect choice.
Summary: Smooth, mellow, and satisfying but an health risk

- 29/01/09 Yes Don but I find it isn't the same quality as Golden Virginia. Also the free cigarette papers are a terrible quality. Far to thick, which ruins a good smoke. |
