I started smoking when i was around 18 just before i went to University and have now been a smoker for around 12 years. I began smoking cigarettes and when i reached University i realised that due to the cost of a pack of 20 it was impossible to smoke them so i needed a cheaper alternative. I therefore thought id try rolling tobacco, ... Read the complete review

Ones upon a time,a year or two ago, Golden Virginia was really a superb tobacco, superior to all of the other products on the market, but today, today is just an ordinary product among the others! Why? Well, GV was known of its superior teste and aroma and now it has gone...Today,you'll never know what you will get, sometimes (most of the time) it ... Read the complete review

Although I occasionally indulge in rolling tobacco, mainly out of image more than anything else, I have always been a branded cigarette man. This is because I struggle to find a reasonably priced brand of tobacco that's suits my palette, as I find most of them way too strong. However, this brand may be on to something. Golden ... I'm going to have to admit to the fact that I am a smoker, and have smoked since I was around 15 I am now 31 so I don't have to tell you how long! I used to smoke tailor made cigarettes such as the well known brand Lambert & Butler. I probably smoke between 10 and 20 a day it depends what I am doing, at around £5.12 a packet I was finding ... It seems golden virginia have been cutting back on the quality alot recently, ive smoked it for a few years, and over the last few months all im getting is harsh tasting, dry your throat out, rank after taste tobacco, you can feel the difference from a year ago when the tobacco was all fine strands and nice and fresh, but now it has hard bits in ... Golden Virginia is a hand rolling tobacco which means that you have to make the cigarette yourself by rolling the the tobacco inside a very thin paper skin known as cigarette papers, of which the most popular brand are the "Rizla" variety. Now rolling a "hand- made" cigarette is quite an art in itself. The quality of ... Read the complete review

Golden Virginia tobacco is probably the most popular rolling tobacco in the United Kingdom, and many other parts of Europe today. It has been amde in England since 1877. In my opinion it is definately the smoothest tobacco, and the nicest to smoke. The older packaging was a bright green colour, bordered with yellow and gold. The packaging nowadays ... This is the best tobacco you can buy, in my opinion. I have been smoking this for around a year now. It is a premium tobacco. I used to smoke cutters choice but theres something about the tabacco that makes me feel a bit sick. It does take a while to get used to the nack of rolling, but you can always buy a rolling ... I've tried most different brands of hand rolling tobacco as well as most brands of factory cigarettes and Golden Virginia is by far my favourite. If you're looking to switch from factory fags to rollies due to cost/taste/whatever then i highly recommend 25g of Golden Virginia and a couple of packets of Green/Blue Rizlas. It's about 30p ... Ooh, I love Golden Virginia! I smoked B+H for years (70p for 10!), then as the prices went up, the quality of the brand I smoked went down until I could only afford them awful, cough your guts up ciggies (mind you, when you offered them around, no-one took one!) at the back of the displays. I then tried pretty much all of the brands of tobacco and ... Read the complete review

For the past 2 years I have been `rolling my own` cigarettes ,mainly down to the rising cost of tobacco products in general. We all know that smoking is not regarded as being good for you.But I have tried so many times to `give it up` ! Golden Virginia is one of the very best hand rolling tobacco`s that money can buy. The tobacco is ... Read the complete review

Hi ;o)
I've been smoking golden virginia for about 2 years now, since I started uni, and I've got to say I don't really have any regrets about smoking it: I tried smoking marlboro reds to start with but they cost sooooooo much and I just think the taste of ready-made cigarettes is pretty shit tbh, they smell good but when you smoke them they don't taste like tobacco should....BUT, golden virginia does :)
So, smoke smoke smoke golden virginia....it tastes and smells like proper tobacco, it's not strong/shitty and it just feels good when you inhale: although don't start really, smoking gv got me addicted because it's so good. thanks, duncx

Golden Virginia is produced by Imperial Tobacco in the UK. It is sold in this country in pouch sizes of 12.5g, 25g and 50g. I tend to buy the 50g pouches. It is quite a mild smoke. I have tried many different tobacco brands and have found Golden Virgina much smoother than the likes of Drum. I used to smoke 'tailor made' Royal ... Read the complete review

Speaking as an ex smoker, I can recommend this tobacco, and before you start thinking i am advocating the used of these "drugs" I will say that I am just giving you my opinion. The anti-smoking lobby has been putting people off smoking for quite a few years now, and I have no wish to start again, but then I am not wishing to have the ... Read the complete review

I read here,, "i cant afford the luxury of straights"
i see this as not a luxury as your straight often contain all sorts of extra added chemicals,, oil and contaminants from machines,, and ive even come across pieces of tin foil, finger nails plastic and all sorts of other nasties in straights!
plus they smell like something that died 2 yrs ago and has just been rained on during a hot day,,
if your going to smoke, roll your own!
and if you find ash falling all over the place or your roll your own disintergrating you obviously need more practice, hehe
golden virginia is the best available imo, although some other tobaccos are also very good.

Being a smoker and due to the ever increasing inflation and the extra 11p here and there on packets of cigarettes, it becomes a costly habit, that at the end of the day is hard to kick and to be honest a lot of smokers out there don't actually want to quit. I have tried to quit several times and I haven't got the willpower, or should I ... Read the complete review

I smoke and have done since the age of thirteen. I constantly get nagged about it and about what it's doing to my lungs, but y'know, you can't take them with you, that's what I say anyway. I have thought about giving up the fags, but I'm not a quitter. I prefer to smoke roll ups, mainly because they're alot cheaper, and don't burn down ... Read the complete review

I've smoked for 42 years but I only discovered Golden Virginia about 15 years ago and though I tried other tobacco brands this had the best flavour, smell, texture etc. The only thing I would change is the 'static' on the packaging, which the tobacco sticks to and ends up all over the place - very messy! I can't smoke them in the car either cos the ash falls off everywhere - ow! Love the new pics on the packaging - the potter, hairdresser, the artist. Are there any other displays of skilled hands I've missed? Another good point is, when you leave your fag and go back to it, it hasn't burnt away like straights do - no waste!
