I started smoking cigars when I was 20 through the influence of the father of a friend who was a big fan of Cuban cigars. He had a reliable source from Cuba and I lived in the US at the time. My first cigar being a Cohiba, I obtained a slight disposition for fine Cuban cigars. I came across the Hoyo de Monterrey during a trip to Costa Rica, where I was delighted to find a cigar that was smooth and not as strong as your Cohibas or Bolivars. The Epicure no. 2 is a robusto which draws well and is a pleasant smoke...not being to hard on the throat!
