Honest cigarettes (Lambert & Butler Filter King Cigarettes)
Member Name: stevie4
Advantages: Strength, flavour, price Disadvantages: Fall apart easily, harsh Lambert and Butler Silver are, despite the weird ads they used to have with the bloke being handed cigarettes on a silver tray by his butler, good, honest, unpretentious cigarettes. If, like me, you smoke mainly because you want/need the nicotine, then you can't go far wrong with these. They're one of the cheaper brands but a lot nicer than others in their price range (eg. Mayfair or Sovereign). I smoked them regularly for years, and though now I usually smoke Marlboro Reds, purely because they're smoother and provide a more predictable hit, I still buy these if I'm feeling short of cash, or just for a change. They do have their own distinctive taste, which takes a bit of getting used to, and they are probably a bit harsher on the throat than some other brands (you can really feel the smoke going down), but I never found they gave me a cough or actually hurt my throat as some brands do. The only slightly annoying thing I found with these is they do have a tendency to fall apart easily when I flick the ash off, especially when there are only a couple of drags left, thus leaving me with the choice of relighting the cigarette with the lighter flame uncomfortably close to my face or just lighting up the next one, which seems wasteful. Overall though, definitely the way to go if you like a full-stength smoke, but don't want to pay for the more expensive brands. Summary: Best of the cheap brands |
