When I first started smoking (at 11, oh god, that sounds terrible!), I bought Lambert & Butler because these were the cheapest! But over the years I have noticed that these no longer appear to be the cheapest but people still smoke them because they still think they are, or out of habit of buying them.

I have also noticed that the ciggerettes themselves have improved, obviously making the price rise. Once upon a time, L&B ripped your throat, were not very well made and the packets were shabby. Now, they are much smoother, better made and the packets have a nice shiny gleam to them! If the makers of L&B are trying to win people round by better tasting fags rather than better prices, then good luck to them, but will they ever get the same credibility of B&H? I don't think they will but if they keep their prices just slightly lower than everybody else, then they will continue to do well.

I personally don't like B&H, I actually prefer the taste of L&B, and so do a lot of my friends who smoke. Saying that, I begrudge paying all that money, so I normally buy Mayfair now (when I'm not buying rolling tobacco, I have an op on Amber Leaf if your inetersted!).

In conclusion, they are cheaper but there is cheaper to be found! Not a bad smoke though!
