Advantages: The best filter cigarette money can be.
Disadvantages: One of the most expensive filter cigarettes money can buy.
Ah... Lucky Strike, affectionately known as "luckies". These little sticks of joy come in several formats, but only two seem particularly prominent in the UK:
Lucky Strike Red (Tar 10mg, Nicotine 0.8mg) - These are the original full strength filters and my preferred kind of luckies.
Lucky Strike Silver (Tar 7mg, Nicotine 0.6mg) - Lights, for those of you who live by the motto "less (carcinogens) is more".
These cigarettes became my brand of choice ever since I was first drawn towards buying a pack based on nothing more than their... er... strike-ing (sorry, that was awful) design. I've tried various different brands now and I can honestly say that nothing holds a light to Lucky Strike. Anyway, enough of waxing lyrical about them - a quick list of pros and cons should be enough to determine whether they are for you or not.
Pros:
+ strong, flavoursome taste.
+ you feel like you have a touch more credibility smoking these babies than you do holding a pack of Mayfair...
+ a smooth smoke from the first puff to the last.
+ completely unique - no other cigarettes taste quite like them.
+ as far as I'm concerned, the best cigs money can buy.
Cons:
- Expensive (unfortunately one of the most expensive brands you can buy).
- Not widely available in the UK.
- Perhaps burn quicker than other cigarettes (a lucky never seems to last as long as a Mayfair/Marlboro).
- Heavier smokers may find that the slightly dry taste of them means they aren't suitable for chaining throughout the day.
Regardless of the cons, I'd heartily (even if you heart wouldn't) recommend any smoker tries a lucky at least once - you don't know what you're missing out on.
***Please remember: smoking harms you and others around you. This article does not promote what is undoubtedly an unhealthy and expensive habit.
Summary: Try at least once instead of your regular brand, you won't regret it.
