Advantages: design, story behind, taste
Disadvantages: not strong enough
A long time ago Lucky Strike introduced themselves onto the market with a "striking" idea. Win cigarettes! The packet was designed (and still has it's original design which is fantastic) as a scratch card. When buying a packet of Lucky Strike you therefor had the chance to win anything from one to ten packets of cigarettes, by scratching the lucky circle. Great way to get people addicted to smoking and gambling. I adore the idea of holding a pack of cigarettes and being able to tell a whole story behind it. Why all the change, when sometimes the best idea is the first one. So from times to times I buy a pack of Lucky Strikes, just to have a fun anecdote to tell. People love stories and so do I. Not to forget. Lucky Strike also strikes your taste buds!

- 01/07/01 I don't smoke because of an "image" and certainly not because of advertising or marketing campaigns. I'm afraid I agree with TheDF, as you could say how Lucky Strike compares in taste and value with other cigarettes you smoke. |

- 13/06/01 My comments on the cigarette are exactly what I said. I've smoked for almost 14 years now and I can honestly say that cigarettes don't differ that much from one another. You have the choice between the stronger and the luighter ones, the mint ones or normal, filter, non-filter. Basically that's it. So when chosing your brand of cigarettes, you chose after the image that the cigarettes give. I chose Lucky Strike from time to time, although they're a bit too light for my taste, because they give a cool image for a special night. A cool image for myself because I appreciate them because of their lucky history. It's stupid, I know, and maybe even more stupid of me to admit it, but it's the brutal truth. I can tell you, that the cigarettes that I prefer most of all...not naming the brand...I don't smoke because I hate the story behind them (I guess you can easily guess why). Smoking is individual and we all do it for different reasons. Well I started as an image thing when I was really young and I honestly beleive that most of us still do. Maybe I'm wrong. |

- 13/06/01 Not a bad anecdote indeed, but where's the info on the product? I'll happily rate it when there's a bit more to it... |
