Advantages: Great Taste, Very positive image, Cool packaging

Disadvantages: Kill you, Expensive, The new health warnings take something away from the design.

I started smoking about a year and a half ago, and much to my dismay have taken the habit to a great liking. I have always thried to think of myself as a great appreciator of quality cigarettes, so although I will give anything a try, I tend to have always preferred the premium brands.

My original brand of choice was Marlboro Lights, and I also had a brief flirtation with B&H but those are for other reviews. I first bought Marlboro Reds for the image, they carry a certain class, they are certainly a up-market smoke and if you pull out a packet of Marlboro (especially red as lights are so popular that they are now a very common brand so that the impact has become lost on most and have become simply a trendy cigarette taking over from Silk Cut) you tend to get noticed more than the average L&B or B&H crew. It is worth noting that at one time in the early 90s Marlboro was considered to be a bigger international brand that Coca-Cola.

Reds taste good if you like a failry strong cigarette, I have heard people say they are a bit over the top, but I don't think this is true, there are brands like Camel which are far stronger, they have a certain taste which is different from British brands, but you get used to this and believe me you will enjoy it. For me the taste of the cigarette is a memorable one, and during my B&H days, what made me switch back to Marlboro was the fact that I could still remember the taste, and it was different (though not always superior) to pretty much anything else.

If you want a fairly strong smoke, these are the fags to go for they have everything the image, taste and give just the right hit. Though they are perhaps a bit pricey so I would reccommend them more to people with money to burn or lighter smokers.

However if you haven't tried them you must, they aren't the most popular cigarette in the world for nothing. A quality smoke.

(P.S. Recently I believe the tar and nicotine levels have co
me down a bit to 11mg Tar 0.8mg Nicotine)
