Advantages: Not too strong, good value price wise.
Disadvantages: Smoking is bad for you,I know.
Before I get bombarded with comments about how bad ciggarettes are for your Health,I am well aware of this, but unfortunately I am addicted to the Nicotine and thats that. I have tried various cheapish Brands like L&B,but found they gave Me a sore throat in the morning and the Tobbacco was too strong to inhale comfortably. Having bought Richmond Kingsize for about two years now I have got so used to them that I find it difficult to smoke other Brands. Richmond are packaged in a nice coloured Sea Blue with a classy Navy stripe through the middle, not that the packaging effects the taste of the Ciggarettes but it is very attractive to the eye. They are manufactured by The House Of John Player,I used to smoke John Player years ago, thats probably how I came to stick with Richmond as they are roughly the same in strength and quality. Richmond are available in Kingsize and superKings, all in packs of twenty. I dont buy the Superkings as I find them far too long, they never seem to end. They are available in both middle tar and low tar.But for Me unfortunately the low tar do not satify My cravings for Nicotine, they are just not strong enough. The ones I do enjoy smoking though contain 12mg of tar and 1.0mgs of Nicotine. On the packaging you will find the usual Health risk warning on the front and on the back a warning to protect your children from passive smoking by not making them breathe it in. To get around this My partner and I both smoke outside in the garden with the back door shut and yes We do go outside in the rain and even the snow. We just come back in shivering.... Richmond provides Me with a pleasant smoke, unlike some other cheaper brands. They are just the right strength for Me.

- 14/10/08 Ok if you are addicted, but maybe you do not fully accept the health consequences if you still talk about the packets 'looking classy'. Maybe they do look 'classier' than your lungs, kidneys and pancreas now do, but what about imposing this on your neighbours. How 'classy' is that ?
Mind you the upper classes often seem to enjoy killing things. Well done for not imposing smoke to people in the house. Its not most peoples fault that cigarette smoke is so poisonous, but whoever thought that putting something in your mouth, setting fire to it and inhaling the smoke was going to be good for breathing {even before DDT, cyanide, tar and arsenic were isolated} ? I used the classy brackets. |

- 14/03/01 Good opinion - not that you'd ever persuade me to smoke! I was just wondering why fags are in the "Food & Drink" section. Anyone know? |
