I have noticed that in the last few months that the quality of these cigarettes has changed. They are hard to draw on, go out on occasions, the ash sometimes drops off without flicking and there is occasionaly a lump of leaf in them. Has anyone else noticed this? e-mail - email@example.com
Now if you are indeed a smoker like myself. this brand of cigarette has to be one of the most pointless things I have ever smoked. I thought with recently falling ill with chest problems that I should move onto something a bit lighter, or quit but I will get round to that later, so I went out and bought some of these Silk Cut Ultra Low and Ive regretted it ever since. In order to feel the satisfaction of having a cigarette you must smoke the entire packet, that is if your throat will take the pressure of sucking on them so hard to feel youve had a decent drag. I think I would enjoy smoking a pool cue more than these. Now for people who are trying to quit then quit dont go on to something like this in order to weaned yourself of them, because you will end up smoking 3 or 4 times as much as you were before. If you are a smoker then you will be fully aware of the risks cigarettes have on your health and I would advise people not to bother with these. I found them a complete waste of money and a waste of time
I'd like to start by clearing up a few myths about lite or ultra lite cigarettes: Approximately two weeks after you make the change from Full-Strength to Silk Cut Ultra you will 1/Smoke the same quantity as before 2/Inhale the same way as before 3/Get the SAME LEVEL OF SATASFACTION AS BEFORE. In fact you will hardly notice the difference(think of it like you were making the change from a very strong cigarette such as Sweet Afton to a Full-Strength like Malboro). The real trouble is getting through the two week period which for me required a fare measure of endurance because it felt as if I was smoking paper during this time. In short during this time I blocked the filter holes, inhaled deeply and smoked a lot more. After two weeks everything was back to normal. I can guarantee you that other reviewers who complained that they were like smoking air didn't stick with them for two weeks. Another important point (based on some web site I came accross (can't remember URL)is that these cigarettes don't contain (potentially damaging) flavour or aromatic additives. Also if your interested in health effects of cigarettes you should go to this link http://www.the-tma.org.uk/benchmark/benchmarkresources/final_report.pdf to download UK Smoke Constituent Study (PDF) which is a detailed study of the levels of some of the most dangerous and carsinogenic chenicals in different brands of cigarettes. The findings basically are that there is a linear consistency between the levels of tar/carbon monoxide and the levels of any other chemical (eg hydrogen cyanide). So if a cigarette has 1/10th the amount of tar/carbon monoxide as another cigarette it also has 1/10th the level of all other chemicals when you compare the two. Also because you are receiving a much smaller dose delayed over a much longer time, your rise goes down even further.
To sum up, I know that I can't give up cigarettes because I need a sort of relief valve when I'm under stress and there is nothing I find more relaxing than having a cigarette, but I'm also very conscious of my health and because I'm just as happy smoking Silk Cut Ultra as the regular Malboro that I smolked before, these cigarettes are ideal. Also I know that some men (mostly teenagers) are conscious of the fasion statement their cigarette brand makes to their peers, fortunately this is'nt an issue with me, I'm a man but not an image conscious man. Also they don't hurt the throat like some stronger cigarettes.
People may think that these are useless, but I really think that these are one of the nicest cigarettes. I have been trying to give up, and these could probably help me do that (eventually). They are expensive and probably a waste of time, but I do like them. I wish that there are some lighter ones if anyone can believe that!! I still smoke about 10 sometimes 15 per day of these things, but nothing else will do. The only problem is that they are not as strong as you need if you have just come from full-strentgh cigarettes - 1mg tar and 0.1mg nicotine to be exact. They are more for the person who is trying to quit, but still needs to smoke occasionally. If you think they are like smoking air, you have probably come from strong to ultra mild straight away, if you do this of course they will taste of nothing. I think that moving onto lighter cigarettes can help you quit, but there is the chance that they will make you start smoking more, plus these have a smooth taste with no harsh aftertaste. The only problems with these is that you can smoke 20 in a day without really realising. I like them and if you think that all cigarettes are a bit too harsh on the throat, these are the ones to try.
I thought silk cut were pointless but i can understand people smoking them when trying to quit. However slik cut ULTRA are the non smokers equivelent to air. If you are trying to quit i belive that they are pointless. rather than smoking less you will just end u spending horrific amounts of money buying Silk cut ultra (cos lets face it they aint the cheapest brand) and smoking a trillion bizillion a day. if you are seriously trying to quit i suggest something like a niccorete inhaler if you fell you really cant do without the niccotine, otherwise just cut down at a pace you can handle untill you are not smoking at all. I have tryed Quiting compleatly in the past, but i just ended up going on smoking binges, so thats not a good way either, still i bet it works better than bloody silk cut ultra!!!
