WHAT IS IT?
A yellow ambulance with a working siren.
THE DESIGN
The ambulance is about 7" long and you can tell its an ambulance immediately because of the colour and shape. It has got a see through window on one side and you can see a seat and the opposite wall has got shadowy medical equipment. ... You can't play in the back so its nice that they've made an effort in the inside. It is very shiny with no sharp edges. The back doors open but the gap is very narrow so you cannot put a toy in there unless it is a very tiny and thin doll.
WHAT I THINK
This is about 2 years old now and some of the paint is chipped now and the colour has faded a bit but the ambulance is stil played with a lot. The wheels are smooth so my daughters can push it around the floor easy, it won't go very far if you give it a big push and let go and the ambulance is better on flooring than on carpet because it is low down and the wheels are small.
The siren is very piercing and the button you press to switch it on gets stuck sometimes and then my husband has to take the battery out because it will sound for hours. It's funny that the back doors open but the driver and passenger doors don't, that would be better because you could put little Lego men inside it's just the right size.
WHAT MY DAUGHTERS THINK
My daughters like to play with cars and trains as well as dolls and more feminine toys, I buy them vehicles when they ask for them and we found this ambulance in tesco. My daughter was 4 then and she had just been in an ambulance after she hit her head so she wanted this straightaway. It has been popular with both of my daughters and they play with it a lot more than I thought when I bought it.
It is too old now but when it was new my daughter used to put it on a shelf with her other favourite toys and it looked nice with her Sylvanian Families animals. My 5 month old baby cries now when the siren goes off so we have not put the battery back in because it is very upsetting for her.
ANYTHING ELSE
The ambulance cost £4 in Tesco and I have seen it as part of a set of emergency vehicles in the paper shop.

Teamsters Scania Fire Engine

The Teamsters Fire Engine is more widely available than some of the other Teamsters toys are on the internet. For around £4, you can pick up one of these from various popular webstores including eBay, Kiddicare and some Amazon Marketplace sellers. It's also available in stores, and our model came from a local factory outlet ... store.
For your £4 you get a really rather robust little fire engine. There are two designed pictured here on Dooyoo, and we have the design that is on the left hand side. What particularly impressed me about this model is that the telescopic attachment on top has yet to snap off! It has done on most fire engines we've ever owned, but so far, it's been strong enough to withstand all kinds of rough play.
As well as being smart and robust, there are also flashing lights and even an authentic fire engine siren included for the low price. There's a little button on top that activates both simultaneously. The grandson has used this to death and yet it's still working after about six months of regular use which is pretty impressive for such a cheap toy.
There are hundreds of different kinds of fire engines on the market, but this one has to come in the top five for me. It's well designed, attractive and visually appealing. It's also really sturdy, fun, interactive and an absolute bargain. What more could you want from your fire engine for less than a fiver?!

Teamsters Ford Transit Ambulance

The Teamsters Ford Transit Ambulance was a real bargain for only £3 from our local factory outlet shop. It's available online as well for around £5 from sites including Bear With It and eBay. Obviously it's a better deal if you can find it in store though!
What makes this such brilliant value for money is that it's a lot ... better quality than it looks. In the picture, you can see that it's a bit of a dodgy yellow colour, very cheap looking really, but in reality it's actually a sturdy little toy. It's chunky, it's durable and it's able to withstand a fair bit of bashing around from our grandson.
It comes with a couple of extra features as well. The back doors open up so you can see inside, although there isn't much space to get anything in the back really. You can just about shove a Lego man in there as long as you're prepared to give it a good jiggle to get the Lego man back out again afterwards! It opens up though and that's the main thing, as it means that kids can use it rffectively in imagination games. The doors are quite thin plastic, but again, quite sturdy ones too. They've been opened and shut quite rapidly on a number of occasions and withstood all the banging around with apparent ease.
The other great thing is that it's got a working siren on top. Now this doesn't appear to be listed in the description I just read on line for this when I checked out the prices, but our model does indeed have a working siren on it. Perhaps there are two different versions out there so do check before buying if you want the siren! There's a little black button tucked away on the top of ours, which activates a realistic ambulance noise when pressed. This again all adds to the fun and variety of the toy.
For £3 we got a top bargain here. We've been really impressed with most of the Teamsters vehicle toys that we've bought to date, and this one is no exception. It's well made, it's well designed and it's really easy and fun to use.
