Bob the Builder manages a whole host of building vehicles including a cement roller and a tractor.
Dizzy is Bob the Builders cement mixer. There are lots of Dizzy inspired toys and other merchandise available. Today, I will be discussing the 'Pull Back Dizzy Vehicle'.
This vehicle is manufactured by Born To Play and is presented in a simple cardboard box. It doesn't require assembly or batteries (though there is a talking Dizzy available). This toy is suitable for children over the age of 3. It measures approx 13 x 9 x 9cm.

Dizzy is currently available online through Amazon and eBay for a few pounds.
My son is a big Bob the Builder fan and has a wide collection of the vehicles and play sets. Dizzy has been in our collection for a while now. Dizzy is one of my sons favourite Bob vehicles and this character is likely to appeal to young children due to the bright orange colour. Dizzy is fairly lightweight.
Dizzy is made from durable plastic. Whilst the age recommendation is 3+, there are no small parts that a smaller child could swallow. Dizzy is fairly solid and steady - our vehicle has withstood rough toddler play by both my son and nephew. This vehicle is made up of the main vehicle body including a smily face and four, well attatched wheels. The cement mixer part is in the centre of the vehicle and is easy enough for a child to move freehand or by using the handle at the back of the vehicle. It does make a horrid, loud clicking noise with each movement which drives my loopy but my son seems to like it!
Whilst quite basic, Dizzy has been well used by my son for imaginative play. He is quite chunky so perfect for my four year old to grasp and drive around his Bob the Builder track. The cement mixer has an open top which Boo finds perfectly suitable for the mini cement blocks he received in a play set. He can transport them from the building yard to the construction centre etc - it is much more fun when extra play items are involved! Boo has fun making up stories and reinacting his favourite Bob the Builder scenes.
The real aspect of this particular Dizzy toy is the pull back function. Unlike some of Boos other pull back toys, this one doesn't immediately race along the floor when pulled back. The back wheels do all the work and the vehicle needs tipped backwards, placed on the floor and nudged a little to encourage Dizzy to move. This took a little while for my son to master but now he is a pro. Dizzy doesn't speed - he takes his time and toddles across the carpet. He does travel much quicker on wooden flooring and track.
Dizzy is still in perfect condition with no chips or damage to the plastic. This vehicle isn't played with all the time but whenever the other Bob toys and sets grab Boos attention, Dizzy is the first one to get his attention.
Good little vehicle if you can buy it cheap - check car boot sales and eBay for bargains!
