We bought my son this boat for christmas as he is a huge Peppa Pig fan.

**Packaging**

I have to say it took quite a while to get this boat out of the packaging , I don`t know why the manufacturers feel that there should be so many wire ties on these toys , they are certainly not safe for children if they were to get hold of them!

***Grandpa`s Boat***

The boat is made out of a strong plastic it is mostly blue in colour with the deck being brown, there is a flagpole with a pirate flag , a bucket which is fixed to the deck and on the other side of the deck there is another flagpole with a bell.There is also a fixed engine control lever , and underneath the boat are 4 wheels.
On each side of the ship are little portholes , one of the portholes is a button where you will hear a phrase such as"Welcome aboard me hearties".

Also included with the boat is Grandpa Pig is dressed in purple with a purple sailors hat , he is standing on like a round disc and you are basically able to move his arms and legs forward and back.
Peppa and George are being good little pigs as they are wearing their life jackets , George is also wearing a pirate hat. Again you can move the arms and legs on Peppa and George.

All 3 characters will fit in one of the holes that is located on the deck.

**Modes of Play**

Underneath the boat you will find a switch and battery compartment , you can switch the boat to Try Me , On , or Off.
Try Me and On basically play the same sounds except in ON mode you also get a Nautical Piper Tune.
You can either push the boat across the room, or if you push down the cabin it will go across the room on its own.


**What do I think?**

Compared to some of the other Peppa Pig toys this boat is quite good and the boat itself is made quite well but there are some downsides.

The cabin is very hard to push even I find it quite difficult , my son gets quite frustrated and upset as he wants to do it by himself.
The flagpole with the pirate flag is bent , this happened after my son played with the toy for a couple of days* The engine control lever is broken , it was just too flimsy
According to the tv ad you just push the cabin down and away the boat goes across the room , the boat does not work well on a carpet.
Arms and legs of the characters are a bit flimsy but so far they have survived even though my son can be quite rough with them.

I think this toy could have been designed a lot better just like some of the other Peppa Toy stuff , my son however loves his boat and has a lot of fun playing with it.
