“ Brand: Corgi / Type: Cars „
I collected lots of Corgi and Matchbox cars when I was younger. Myself and my brother had a shockingly good collection. I had cars, buses, boats and also quite a few duplicates in different colours if I recall. Now something that every collector should yearn for in their collection of cars is a state of the art London Taxi.
This taxi looks like the cabs you get in central London, smart, black and sexy, if you can call a cab sexy. The car recreation is a diecast model and is much like you would expect from the Corgi range. They have been making toy cars for over four decades and are probably the best known brand for toy cars.
This little dinky model is a faithful adaption and comes with fold down seats, this is a wonderful idea, makes you think you're going for a real ride and also has a wheelchair ramp, or maybe for pushchairs? Two interesting touches which bring it into the new century. These extras might also entice a different audience to the toy car and it's nice to see Corgi being socially aware.
The reg plate has been articulated well as has the sign above the windscreen, again two subtle touches which bring it to life all the more. Delicately designed wheel trims add panache and a glossy paint job give it shine appeal. You can wheel the car along and take it for rides, so it has plenty of play value. In terms of price, expect to pay about six to seven pounds. This is a fair price for an unsual model and I have no doubt that taxi enthusiasts and car collectors will be flocking to snap up their black cab. Just needs a mouthy driver and it's there!
