“ Brand: Golden Bear / Type: Cars „
My son is Noddy mad !! We watch the show on channel 5 every day and he just loves him....
We were browsing in toys r us one day and he spotted this on the shelf and with alot of pleases we bought it for him.The set contains Noddys Car,Mr Plods Police Car & Big ears fire truck. The set also has each of the characters to drive in their car.
Mr Plods police car has a seat for mr plod to sit in and also the lid (which is in the shape of a policemans helmet) this lifts up so you can put those naughty goblins or any other naughty people in the back. There is also a door on the back which opens up.
Big ears fire truck has a seat for him to sit in and comes complete with two ladders. The only downside about this one i feel is that the two prongs that hold the ladders in place come out too easliy and are quite small.I have taken the ladders and prongs away from the truck just as a precaution as my little one is crawling about now.
Last but not least is noddys car.Yet again has a seat for noddy and you can also sit another figure quite comfortably next ti him as my son often sits tessie bear in there too.The boot of noddys car opens up.
The cars & figures are all very well made and the characters all bend at the waist making them very easy to sit in the cars.
We paid £9.99 for this set recently out of Toys r Us yet at other retailers i have seen it for as much as £14.99.The set is made by goldenbear who do have a website where items can be purchased online.I think this set is good value and great for any little Noddy fans out there
Our grandson had this for Christmas and absolutely loves this set. Noddy is probably aimed at children who are two to five years old in my mind and our Grandson is four and just the right age to really appreciate this particular set.
It costs around £10 depending on where you get it from and was only £5 in our Woolies closing down sale. It features Mr Plod's car complete with a flip-open policeman's helmet to reveal a little police cell chamber! There's a little door on the back too and a Mr Plod figure with bendable legs who can sit and drive his little car around toy town.
Then there's Noddy and his car of course complete with a little Noddy character and Big Ears and his red fire truck car too. These little cars are very sweet and well made but I do find the detachable bits a pain if I'm honest as they're a bit easy for little ones to lose. On Noddy's car, the boot opens but stays attached which is fine, but his windscreen can actually be snapped right off and lost. It just clips back into place. In fairness it does take a deliberate snap to get it in and out but once a little mind has this figured, you just know the windscreen will go AWOL.
On Big Ears truck there are two removable prongs that are there to hold the ladders on. I can't for the life of me think why these are removable as there's no fun to pulling them out, they're just easily lost! The ladders of course are good fun to take off the prongs as they can be used by Big Ears if he's fighting a fire. I know Big Ears doesn't usually fight fires in toy town by the way but this is what he does in this set.
Overall these are very sweet cars that are ideal for little boys and girls to do some role playing with. There's a complete set here between the three vehicles that provides plenty of fun without the need for buying anything else. The only annoyance is the detachable bits!
I bought my son who is a huge Noddy fan this set of Vehicles when Woolworth's was closing down so only cost about £5 but generally this set costs about £10.
The box displays all that is available so you can see exactly
What is included?
Contents of the box
It has three vehicles a fire engine, Noddy's car, Mr Plod's prison vehicle then the three characters Noddy, big ears and Mr Plod.
The vehicles are replicas of the show and although Mr plods vehicle or the fire engine aren't featured very often they are in the TV series.
Mr Plods Jail vehicle
It has room for Mr Plod to sit in the front with a steering wheel that doesn't move. The jail at the back which has a flip up lid that is a police helmet and a door at the back that opens which has a lock image on it to give the impression it locks. There is room in the jail for both the goblins which my son has from another set. I do find that my son tends to pull the helmet off despite it not been designed to do so. The windscreen is very flimsy and could easily be pulled off. The vehicle like the others does not have any friction power but does roll easily along the carpet
The Fire engine
The fire engine is similar with the flimsy windscreen. I did come with a ladder on the back but my son has pulled this off and has since got lost. It also has a hose which is decorative. There is nothing to open or move in this car but room for big ears to sit down and Drive. In the TV series it is Dinah doll who drive the fire engine and Big ears generally rides round on his tricycle if he isn't walking.
Noddy's car is the most familiar of all the vehicles at it tends it feature in every episode. It is Yellow with red bumpers and seat. Like the others it has the flimsy windscreen which my son has removed which has three prongs of plastic at the bottom so you do need to be careful what age you give these toys to. The boot of the car does open and my son has not yet managed to remove this part.
All The figures are familiar to any Noddy fan and all their legs bend so that they can sit in the car and then walk around. MY son can't yet bend the legs as you need to bend them back so for now it remains a mommy job.
I think in a way this toy is disappointing for me in the sense that there are two many removable parts for a little one yet it seems a little basic for older children. I do think the design could be looked at. However my son does love them and plays with them regularly. He does tend to play with the prison vehicle more than any other .I would say his least favourite is the fire engine but then he does have better fire engine's to play with.
This toy is great for role play. They are not the sturdiest due to removable parts and would have to say that it is not recommended for children who are under 3years old and despite my son having it at two years old I agree with the recommendation due to the small removable parts. I guess this is one of the few toys that my son and I would disagree on the recommendation.
Comes with Noddy figurines and three vehicles!
