The Hot Wheels Power Lift Garage retails for a very reasonable £5.99 in most places. Some shops, like Wilkinsons, sell it for £4.99 as standard which is even better. But wait, there's more, if you're lucky enough to still find this in the January sales at Wilkinsons, or any other store that stocks this, then you'll only pay £2.49 for it!! The daughter picked up several of these for birthday presents for children at school in the sales, though we already had two of them at home for the grandson anyway.

We've got this one and a firestation set from the same range, and what's so great about these is that are complete play sets that are small enough to carry around with you. The daughter can fit one in her handbag, and I can fit one easily in my glovebox. That's the real appeal behind these, they're just so conveniently compact.

The front of this Power Lift Garage opens out to reveal a few fun little play functions tucked neatly away inside. There's a little car transporter arm that swings the die cast car around (car included), and a ramp that swings up to lift the car up for some pretend servicing. There's even a little petrol pump with a plastic arm which moves.

The front of this set is a little flimsy, and it doesn't always click shut straight away though it will stay shut if pushed a little. There's a good variety of fully functioning parts included in here though that more than make up for that. All of the moveable parts have withstood a fair bit of bashing around to date without breaking.

I'd be happy even if I'd paid full price for this (which actually the daughter did I believe). It's a really convenient small toy to carry around and keep young lads occupied with in hospital waiting rooms or while sitting in a traffic jam. This is compact, well designed and reasonably well made considering the price tag.
