      A good toy!

My son went through a real phase with Scooby Doo when he was about three and my mum bought him the Scooby Doo Ghost Patrol Mystery Machine. I believe she purchased it from Toys R Us for around £24.99 and I have noticed you can now buy it on Amazon used for £10.00. Now whilst Ben 10 has pretty much taken over in this house my son still gets lots of enjoyment from playing with this toy and he uses it for all of his figures!

With the Scooby Doo Ghost Patrol Mystery Machine you get the familiar light blue, green and orange "Mystery Machine" which is always present in the Scooby Doo TV shows. You also get a Shaggy figure with moveable parts, a scooter for Shaggy, two ghosts and a net to catch them in. There are also a few stickers which need to be stuck on to the Mystery Machine.

The Mystery Machine is made of good quality solid plastic. We have had it for around two years now and although there are a few scuff marks on it that is all the damage there is so I think considering how much it has been played with that is really good going. The product measures 13 x 26 x 20 cm but as long as you have toy boxes it is easy to store. When you look at it you are faced with a large front window. You can see inside to the seats and steering wheel. There is space here for you to put figures. Both the side doors open for you to be able to do this. There are two handles on the top of the Mystery Machine. The second handle lifts and you can flip over the top of the machine to reveal what is meant to be a ghost tracking machine complete with a little satellite. There is room again here for some figures or for you to store your ghosts when you catch them!

Being a vehicle the Mystery Machine is on wheels and they are plastic too but feel really good quality. They move smoothly and you can push the vehicle along whilst holding it or give it a good push and let it go on its own. It will move well on carpet as well as on laminates. I have noticed in the past that some toy cars won't really move well on carpets but this definitely does. For us this is a positive thing as most of the places my son would play are carpeted in our home.

My son has had hours of fun playing with this toy however he also received a set of the rest of the Scooby Doo characters which I think aided the play with this toy as he could set it up like he had seen on the TV and had more options with who was going to drive etc. I think you can purchase the characters for around £10.00 so I think that is a wide addition to this set. It is not however essential as like I said my son likes to play with his Ben 10 figures in the vehicle as well!

All in all I think this is a great toy for children. It has lasted really well and is showing no signs of giving up any time soon and I would imagine my son will continue to get enjoyment from it for another few years yet so as such I would say it is suitable for children around two and half to seven or eight. The manufacturers recommended age is 3+ but I think you could get this for a younger Scooby Doo fan.

Thoroughly recommended by myself and also has the seal of approval from my son.
