~ Overview ~
I have now written a few reviews on toy cars so I thought why stop there as I did own a lot of toy cars. So what am I writing about now? I am writing a review on the DeLorean - Back to the future toy car I used to own along with the other toy cars (Batman, Ghostbusters etc...).
At the time this car was a striking, futuristic and really cool design, but today it looks like a bean tin ready to be scrapped. My favourite part of this toy was that the car doors would open upwards just like a Ferrari, it also looked futuristic too as you could bend the wheels to look as if it could fly.
Of course if you took away the plutonium power and the flux capacitor it looks quite tedious and quite basic.
~ Interesting Facts about the real car ~
* The original DeLorean car was originally created in Northern Ireland.
* Only in production from 1981 to 1982
* Three cars were created which were plated in gold and left without a paint job
~ Price & location ~
You can buy this car from new at Amazon for around $50 which is quite expensive but to any toy car collector this is a must for your collection. You can actually buy different types of back to the future toy cars, as they tend to differ depending on which film the car was from.
~ Age Range ~
Again I am going to run with an age range of 6+ as I was around this age when I first had my toy cars and got the most fun out of them as I was a bit older and could use my imagination more (still do now come to think of it).
~ Summary ~
- 1/18 scale of the real car
- Doors and hood opens
- You can steer the wheels and they will roll as you drive along
- Wheels fold inwards just as it does in the first film
- Plutonium is not included
~ Conclusion ~
If you like toy cars or if your children have a great imagination then this is a great toy car to buy them. Also if you are a collector of rare toy cars then this would be a nice addition to your collection as I can see this type of toy becoming even rarer than it is today.
Yes the price is expensive but your children will get the most out of it especially if you let them watch the movies first, they will love it.
My Rating: 5/5
