WHAT IS IT?

Straight tracks to be used with the Brio railway systems. They are sold as add ons in packs of 4 and are also included in the Brio train sets. Buying extra packs allows you to take a Brio train track and expand it especially if you purchase other add on shaped track pieces.

THE DESIGN

These tracks are made from beech wood and are about 5.5cm long. They are perfectly straight with the jigsaw shaped cut outs and straight indents running along the length of the tracks for the trains to run along. The tracks are quite shiny and feel soft and smooth to the touch.

WHAT I THINK

These tracks are very good value because they not only fit the Brio railway systems but also other brands of train track that have the same end fittings. They fit together strongly and securely because the fittings are smooth and have been cut out properly so that there are no problems with ill fitting connections. My daughters trains always move smoothly along these tracks and that includes when they pass over the joins between the tracks because they are always flush against each other.

The tracks are very good quality and have not been damaged at all even though they are played with a lot by my 6 year old daughter. Because they are slim they store easily in a bag with the rest of the track pieces, these are the short tracks but you can also buy the straight Brio tracks in a longer design and those are good for when you want to build longer tracks without using up all your short tracks. I think these will last a long time because they have not lost any colour or had any chips knocked out of them.

The minimum age for these tracks is 3 years but I do not see why and if your child is younger and likes to play with trains and tracks then these are a very good add on for your main track.
