Following on from my review of the BRIO Magnetic Bell Signal, the 'Record & Play Station' is a fairly ambitious interactive toy which is designed to slot onto the BRIO wooden track system.
Costing £33.95 from Amazon, the item comprises a beechwood train station with a unique voice recording ability. By holding down the red button on the left hand side of the roof, you can compose a ten second message - ("the train arriving at platform one..." etc), which my nephew finds extremely entertaining. By pressing the yellow button next to it, the message is replayed via the built-in rooftop speaker. The sound quality is actually very good, and you can change the message as often as you like.
For the product to operate, it requires three AA batteries which screw into the underside of the device. These actually last a long time - even with the recording and constantly replaying of massages.
The rail platform itself is very well made, and features two other buttons on the roof - one of which operates a realistic train sound, and the other turns on a small light on the side of the building. The clock on the front can be set to any time, and a revolving board next to the track can display either London, Berlin, Tokyo, or New York.
I highly recommend this item, as it can increase the appeal of the BRIO train system for those aged three and over. It's fun to play with - even for adults!
Packed with working features including record and play your own station announcements plus engine sounds, working lights, ticket desk, rotating destination sign, opening and closing door, station master and overhead clock. Magnetic track can be detached from station base for maximum play possibilities.
