      Very helpful

      Highly Recommended

Christmas is coming. I know you all hate me for pointing that out, but sadly it is true. This little toy is just perfect for a young lad's Christmas Stocking. It cost us £1.50 from a shop, but if you search the internet you can find it online for anything between 95p and £2.49 (most sites don't advertise the brand name, they just sell it as a Wind Up Train Set). Lots of cheapy stores will be stocking this too and I wouldn't be surprised if you find it in your local factory shop or Poundland.

We've opened this as the grandson finds packaging very frustrating, so only playsets are left boxed for him. Everything else gets de-packaged and put into a Christmas box for his stocking. So of course, that means that Grandad has had the opportunity to test this out in advance (purely for research purposes of course).

There are four pieces of track included in this little carded set, and they join together fairly easily to create a small, circular track. The little wind up train is a decent size, and surprisingly sturdy quality for the price. It comes complete with a little carriage attached onto the back for added play appeal.

I have to say that I didn't expect this cheap novelty item to be quite so easy to use. I expected the wind up train to work, but I didn't expect it to look as detailed as it does. I also expected the track to need an adult to ram it together, as you do with most cheap toys, but I think the grandson will be able to manage this himself actually. Best of all of course, it works just as you expect it to work! The train stays on the rails pretty well and can also be used on a hard surface like laminate flooring or a dining room table too. Winding it up is easy too, so this is a great little kit for a child from as young as three or four years old.

For the price you can't go wrong with this. It'll probably give up the ghost in well under a year, but for £1.50 I don't think that matters. It's not like stocking fillers often get used far beyond Christmas Day anyway! I definitely recommend this and for the price, I have to give it a full five stars.
