      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Spend a bit more and get what you pay for.

I bought these for my nephew from Argos. They were only cheap and he liked the idea of talking from a different room.

I reserved online and went in to pay for and collect my item.

They came well packaged in a bright colourful box, they were difficult to remove from the box as so many toys seem to be these days.

They did not come with batteries so I bought some and set them up. It was easy enough to insert the batteries but a screwdriver was neessary. At least you know that your child cannot access the batteries easily.

They did not work! There was just static no matter how close or far away the units were from each other.

I tried different batteries in case it was that the charge in them wasn't enough, you know duds or whatever, but no.

I had to return these as they just didn't work, there was only the slightest suggestion of a whisper coming from them and that was if you put them right up against your ear.

Although they are colourful and look fun they aren't as they don't work. I returned them and decided to get a refund rather than a replacement as I didn't want to chance my luck a second time. I ended up wasting my money on batteries that don't fit anything else I own (they are the small rectangular ones).

I would recommend steering cleer of these as I doubt I had the only faulty set, iff indeed it was that they were faulty and not just a toy that doesn't work at all full stop.

If you want walkie talkies spend a bit more and get better ones that will at least grow with your child as these are very childish looking with their bright colours and cartoon animal drawings.
