First thing I should say about this item is that this toy is not electronic. It can be used with the electronic Zhu Zhu pets but the actual stroller is not electronic.
The Zhu Zhu pet Hamster Baby stroller is yet another addition to the Zhu Zhu range which seems to grow by the month.
The stroller is made from a fairly strong plastic and is pink and white in colour. It has two carriages which you can put two Zhu Zhu hamster babies in.
When you get the stroller out of the box you will find that it needs to be put together and although it is simple for adults to put together I wouldn't expect a child to be able to put it together. It is just a case of clipping the hoods into the the stroller and the clips have to be aligned properly otherwise they will miss where they are supposed to and it won't be clipped in securely. Once it has been done, the hoods are very secure and I have never had to put them back into place. Once in place you can let your child use the stroller. The stroller has 4 pink wheels to allow it to move along easier.
At the back of the stroller there is a little bit for you to put one of the full sized hamsters. When the full sized hamster is in and you turn it on, it will push the stroller along as it moves forward. The Zhu Zhu babies are £4.99 each and they are much smaller versions of the Zhu Zhu's and they fit into the little carriages. Once the normal sized Zhu Zhu is going you can watch as it pushes it's babies around for a little stroll. it is funny to watch as the stroller changes direction as the hamster changes its course as well.
My daughter has hours of fun with this though I just see it as a money making scheme from Character. But as long as she loves it that is all that matters. It cost us £9.99 from Hamleys and it is available in most toy shops, Argos, Play.com and Amazon.
The Zhu Zhu Hamster stroller is a great addition to the Zhu Zhu Hamster range. (Zhu Zhu Hamsters were previously branded Go Go Hamsters).
The stroller is made from strong plastic and is available in a pink and white colour scheme as featured on the box, although the one we received differs in that the carrycot section is pink and the hood is white - either colourway is just perfect for little girls.
The stroller needs to be assembled before use which consists of clipping the hoods into place and this is definitely a job for an adult. Although it took a little time to actually align the hood to where they clip into place, the actual clipping into place bit is very easy and the hoods are soon secure. After that the stroller is ready for use. (Ours didn't come with instructions but it is pretty easy to work out)
There is a section at the back of the stroller where you sit a full size hamster and once in place the hamster is secure and there is no chance of it falling out. The zhu zhu babies come separately and these retail at 4.99 and for this you receive one baby along with a couple of accessories, eg bottle and spoon, etc. The babies comfortably sit in each pram section and once you activate the big hamster they set off for a ride - they'll go in whatever direction the hamster decides !! The hood on each carrycot can be moved to allow the babies to face the direction of travel or for them to be able to face 'mummy' hamster. My little one has enjoyed hours of play with the stroller and babies.
For 9.99 it's a great addition to the range, it's just a shame you have to buy the babies separately !!!
