On a trip to the Trafford Centre in the run up to Christmas I went and had a bit of a spending spree in the Disney Store for presents for my little girl. When I got to the till to pay the shop assistant told me that as I had spent over £50 (oops!) I could purchase one of a choice of three toys for a discounted price. Upon seeing the toys there was a cute little kitten that I couldn't resist - Marie from The Aristocats - and I was told that it was just £2.99 so I decided to take up the offer. At the time of choosing the toy I thought it was just a soft toy, but taking a closer look at home I realised it was actually a remote control toy!
Marie is a small white kitten from the Disney hit movie The Aristocats, she has big green eyes with thick black eyelashes to make them stand out even more. She has a little pink nose and tongue, which like the eyes are embroidered on. On top of her head she has a little tuft of hair with a small pink bow attached which makes her look like a girly kitten and around her neck she has a pink collar with a large pink satin bow. Out of the bow comes the lead for the remote control at the back of her neck so it is disguised quite well. The lead is approximately 27" long which is a decent length for a toddler, and the controls are on a chunky pink plastic pawprint. There are two controls for the kitten and these are actioned by pressing one of the raised pads on the paw. The left hand button simply makes Marie meow and wag her tail, and the right hand button makes her meow and walk forward.
Marie is a really cute kitten and very appealing to little girls, and mums alike!! I think it is a great introduction to remote control toys as it is such a simple toy. My little girl has really taken to this toy which was a lovely surprise as it was such an impulse buy and not something that I would have considered had it not been offered at a discount. Since receiving the toy I have had to purchase the dvd of The Aristocats as my daughter nagged me saying she wanted to see what Marie was in!!
Although Marie is only made of fabric, my little girl likes to walk her outside on the pavement as though she is walking a dog, so she has got dirty quite quickly. I have sponge cleaned the paws on the toy and it has come out quite well but now looks very well played with.
I was surprised to find out that the toy came with batteries as most toys these days don't have them supplied, however should you need to change them you will need 3 AAA batteries. To replace them you simply unscrew the back of the paw. The price of Walk and Talk Marie is £14.00 so I got a real bargain with the price I paid, although had I known what a hit the toy was going to be I would happily pay full price.
I would recommend this toy without hesitation! Thank you for reading my review :)
