Advantages: Good quality wooden bricks

Disadvantages: None

I bought this set of wooden bricks from the Early Learning Centre last year, when I was looking for something for my daughter's first birthday. I was keen to buy something that was educational, safe, well made and that would last for some time as she developed. I remembered these bricks from my own childhood, and when I saw them, I knew that I had to buy them. For £10.00, you get 100 bricks in varying shapes and sizes, ranging form cylinders, cubes and triangles, to half moons, bridges and ledges. They are in natural wood and some bright colours. There is also a useful canvas carrying bag.
The bricks are classed as an Early Learning Classic, and I agree with this. They will last for many years, and will not date. I like a lot of retro things, and the bricks appeal to that kind of nostalgia, and remind me of when I was little.
My daughter has really enjoyed playing with the bricks, and has recently started to build a tower with them. The age range for the bricks is 12 months to three years, so I know that she will get a lot more use and enjoyment from them. The bricks are good for encouraging hand-eye coordination and and fine motor skills, as well as learning about different shapes and colours. Later, they will encourage social play, imaginative play and sharing. So, altogether they are a great buy that will last for a long time.

Summary: Excellent value for money
