Advantages: Colourful and sturdy

Disadvantages: Not enough variation in music and sound effects

The sit to stand giraffe is a colourful toy that so far appears to be quite sturdy - though my baby hasn't reached the age where she'll be dragging it around the room yet! The giraffe's ears appear to be designed to help baby stand up but dragging round will probably become more attractive option so I will update the review when that happens.

The giraffe allows baby when sitting to either pop balls in the giraffe's mouth, or if they are not quite tall enough they can put them on the helter skelter part below the giraffes mouth. When the baby feeds the giraffe balls through it's mouth, music is played which ends with the giraffe making a rather annoying (well for me and dad anyway...lol) cartoon character type laugh - think Elmer Fudd!

The balls slide down the helter skelter and disappear into the body of the giraffe and pop out anyone of the giraffes legs. There is a little holder bit under each leg to stop the ball rolling across the room. The idea of the balls appearing at a random leg each time is great when your baby can stand and move around the giraffe, but if your baby is using this sitting you will have to get up and get the ball each time it appears at a back leg!

There is also a button on top of the giraffes head so that baby can make the giraffe play music - my criticism is there doesn't seem to be much variation of music played. A few different tunes wouldn't have gone a miss.

There is 2 volume settings on the giraffe so it's good if you don't want to be deafened by the usual loudness that seems to be standard with baby toys.

Only 3 balls are provided with the giraffe so it might be worth buying some ping pong balls.

Also to attach the little holding plates to the giraffe's legs a screwdriver is needed.

Summary: A simple idea but it keeps baby amused!

We have one of these and I think there is not enough music either! Rebecca Xx
